Congrats Safesound. Sounds like a big boy! Lovely name xx.[
Nope, well not that they're telling me anyway. less than 2 weeks till my due date now anyway so i'm sure I'll get there without it lol!
sometimes it really bothers me the differences in care that we all receive depending on where we live  I would start a campaign or something but then I realise I have a million other things on my list that need my attentionand im a tiny bit too unambitious to arrange something like that

DH's parents live in london which apparently is too far to travel in one day (2 hours), but we've already told them we don't want them to come and stay. So I think they're going to stay in a hotel...! No doubt they'll end up hanging around at our house all day but hopefully they won't stay down here too long. I sound like a right cow don't I?! I get on fine with them, just don't want long-term visitors! Luckily DH agrees with me on this

No, I know exactly what you mean! I agreed to take baby on a 3 hour trip at a few days old, just to avoid the in-laws descending. They would've had to go to the Travelodge, and then would need to be fed, entertained...0 -
I just asked this on the newborn thread, but thought I'd put it here as well for any input.
I am due to have a sweep on Wednesday, should I be taking my hospital bags with me? I know the sweep doesn't work for everyone but I would like to be prepared in case it does. My only concern is that I have quite alot of stuff to take as I am having twins so don't want to log it around if I don't have to.
Also I lost quite a bit of my mucous plug this afternoon, does that mean that labour is starting soon? I've heard that some people lose theirs way before they have their babies so not really sure whats going on.
I had 2 sweeps in my first pregnancy, both times done by my midwife at my doctors surgery, I went home afterwards and was told it may kick off in the next day or so. (Nothing did btw)
As far as I know, its only going to bring labour on - which will still take hours/days to settle in anyway.
however you may be different with having twins ? and having already lost some of the plug it may have already started.
I think you really need to ask the midwifeBow Ties ARE cool "Just because you are offended, doesnt mean you are right" Ricky Gervais0 -
Dashikii, I would ake the bags in the car with you just in case. Assuming you are driving. You never know what they will say once you are there, and with twins the are likely to be a bi more coutious and ask you to stay. Yo can loose you mucus plug a couple of weeks befor the action starts, but also it could be very close to it all. That is what we were told at NHS classes.
Ok, off to sleep. Have a good night all.Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -

Congratulations safesound he was a good weight
Dizzi congratulations on the arrival of Erin and sorry to hear what a nightmare experience you had.
Lisa I didn't get any hands or feet just a bum.
I will do a birth story at some stage as out birth plan went out the window :-)
Just sitting up waiting to give LO his feed so thought I would read back and update.
Some of you with similar delivery dates may remember that Leo was diagnosed at the 20 week scan with bilateral talipes. Well first off it was the last thing on our minds when he arrived all we could look at was his perfect features and white blond hair. When we did look we were calm and non plussed by it as the enormatity of this tiny baby that I had been carrying for 8.2 months was overwhelming and to us he was perfect.
The hospital recommended I stay in an extra night so we could be seen this morning by the orthapedic specialist, he came down and was really positive Leos left foot is fine and his right foot will need some help but while we were there he masssaged it and it moved towards the correct position it should be they then put a cast on it to hold in place, we will need to go back in a couple of weeks. Leo is not fussed by his cast and is still a very content baby. I was dreading today but feel very confident in the care we have/will receive. Next time we have a change I will take a picture.

Morning all, hope you're all ok. Glimmer, little leo sounds perfect
Bet he looks like a little angel with his blond hair!
I've got a day off work today as we have some people in doing work on the loft that I haven't met before - and the usual ones aren't here. The main ones have a key, but I don't want any old randomer having one! Miserable day here though, very gloomy and has been tipping it down with rain.
Got lots to do today - plan to woodstain the new staircase, go to the bank and the hardware shop, fix some floorboards, poss go to the timber yard to get some new floorboards, go to the gym/swim, pay some bills, and speak to the building inspector. Also wanted to bake a cake
Feeling really odd today - slept badly and now have a sore back and neck, and a headacheFeel a bit sick too... But not bad enough to sit around and not do anything, unfortunately!
Where have you guys got your muslin squares from? They seem quite expensive for what they are, and for how many you need! I was half thinking about buying some muslin from the fabric shop (it's about £1 a metre or less), and making my own, but I don't know if that'd be more hassle than it was worth....plus I'm not that great with a sewing machine...! :rotfl:
Wow it's exciting, Dashikii to think that you're potentially so close to holding your little babies!!
Hope you all have a good day - and that the sun shines!
