Gin/Mishka, I find the monitoring weird too, we went from them referring us for every test/scan going to suddenly deciding all was fine and not wanting to see me any more. plus i'm 'shared care' so see midwife for some appointments and consultant for others but I have no contact for my midwife. She's only at my doctors surgery 1 half day a week so I have to ring the hospital when I want anything, even if its nothing major and I just need a bit of advice.

I've managed to make a start stripping the walls in the small bedroom today. We've been and got some paper (a plain one then we'll either put a border or stickers up to make it look more like a nursery) from homebase. We also got some paint for our bedroom and some for the doors and skirting boards and some for the kitchen.

Hardly felt little wriggler today and when I have it's been quite faint so I'm guessing (s)he has turned round and/or moved back a bit. Think I was spoilt at the weekend with all the movement

I'll have my OH and my mum with me when I give birth. Eugh so scared. I do want them to stay at the admin end though (head). If I catch anyone peering at the business end (fanny) there will be serious trouble!!

Just a quick update for those that are interested. My son Jake was born on April 11th at half past 12 in the morning and weighed a tad under 10lb. When I have 5 minutes I'll post the story in the other thread.

Do you not have medicom or something similar in your area ? Its a phone service for the midwife team so I can call and leave message and whichever midwife is on call gets back to me. Think its 24/7 ?

Im under consultant care too, but its very much like you lisa, they are taking it from one appointment/problem to the next until they get bored of me I guess !

Congratulations dizzi! So glad that baby erin arrived safe, although I'm sorry that it was all so traumatic. Don't be afraid to ask for help if you need to talk to someone like a counsellor- you've been through something very stressful after all. Hugs anyway, to both of you

Re the visitor issue, I think we're going to try and limit visitors for the first week, but I wouldn't want to deny close family the chance to see baby when s/he is tiny. My mum lives locally though so wouldn't need to stay- I couldn't cope with people staying. DH's parents live in london which apparently is too far to travel in one day (2 hours), but we've already told them we don't want them to come and stay. So I think they're going to stay in a hotel...! No doubt they'll end up hanging around at our house all day but hopefully they won't stay down here too long. I sound like a right cow don't I?! I get on fine with them, just don't want long-term visitors! Luckily DH agrees with me on this
