Congratulations and excited-ness to those of you who have had positive scans or heart beats! :j
I heard my baby's heart beat for the first time at 16 weeks after I took my little dive, it was such a relief and completely amazing :) Since then I've heard it at every midwife appointment and I love it! :D

My little wriggler has been booting the hell out of me the past couple of days! It's lovely but sometimes quite painful! Still feels breech to my untrained self though...

Off to my pregnant friends house for tea in a min, she's nearly 38 weeks now and very impatient! It'll be so nice to have someone nearby to share maternity leave with :)

I'm sure there was lots more I wanted to day but am on my phone and can't scroll back to remind myself!

Hope you all have a lovely evening :)

Considering I only woke up at 10.30-11am, and didn't really do much today, I just had a nap on the sofa as OH is preparing dinner? I am still not hungry, all I had today was a bowl of cereal, two small biscuits, a tune piece of lamb roast left over (and I mean tiny, like two 50p coins put together), a slice of bread with a small piece of cheese to taste before it is used up.

My cleaner to be called today to ask if they can come on Tuesday nstead of Thursday, which means my house will start looking more decent much sooner! Got the guy to do the work n the garden as well, ge said I would be about 6 hours, maybe a day and it will cost £50. I liked him and Ho will be coming the week after next. Oh, and told OH this evening about my garden help, and he agreed to it as well.

The babies are not a active as I've the last few days, but. Am still feeling some movement, so I am happ with that. Busy weekend ahead preparing the house for cleaners to clean instead of try and walk around our mess, maybe I'll even manage a trip to the skip...

Hello everyone, congratulations to those who got to hear their LO's heartbeats, I think it's so magical, I look forward to all my mw appointments just to get to hear her little heartbeat!

I have had a really strange day, I think LO is quite low in my pelvis so walking feels like little electric shocks, like a mild jolt to my bladder, I have terribly sore wind (sorry for tmi!), I have developed that 'pregnancy waddle' that's so attractive and woke to find I'm sporting some rather red stretch marks that weren't there earlier too!

We had the nhs bf class today, really pleased we went as DH and I learned a lot and it was reassuring too as I'd been worried about how the cutbacks might affect support but it sounds like they're very proactive in our area which is great news.

It's my sis' hen party tomorrow night, I am really looking forward to an evening out but seeing as I'm in my bed by 9 every night I can't see me staying late! Got my eyebrows threaded for the occassion (and so they're nice for the wedding) - the pain was horrendous, I honestly look forward to childbirth more than that experience!

    Hi all :)

Can I be added to the list please? DD 28th June and we're team blue!!

Great news emsbet, hearing the heartbeat is such a wonderful thing, the best part about seeing the midwife!
Talking of which, mine is very nice, seen the same one every time and apart from sometimes feeling a little bit rushed, it's been fine.

My MIL is a health visitor and obviously gives me great advice, a lot of which has really helped me. I don't know if it's because I'm nearing the end but lately she's been phoning me near enough every day telling me what not to do etc!
'Don't wear underwired bras anymore as it damages your milk ducts', 'make sure you are having enough vitamin d as the sun hasn't been out much', and the latest thing was about group b strep which I'd heard of in the news and was a bit worried about, but she's made me really paranoid!
Spoke to midwife, who said it can be fatal for the baby during birth if I'm a carrier but its very rare. Its not routinely screened for on the nhs so would have to pay for a test to be done. I now have a kit on its way for me to be tested for it.

Anyone else had any experience with this group b strep?

    J xx

PS, I'm getting booted left right and centre tonight by baby, I love it!
Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference :)

I've added you to the list MrsBryan. Welcome to the thread :)

    xx

ETA my sister tested positive for strep B with her second, the hospital sent her a letter saying she would need antibiotics during labour. However my nephew arrived three weeks early and so she received it after she'd had him!

    Welcome Mrsexcited and MrsBryan

Gin glad you've got your cleaner sorted. Enjoy your bit of pampering for the wedding. I'm sure the hairdresser will be able to put the fascinater in nicely for you.

About the iron tablets. Not sure which ones you're on. Normally at work we give them at mealtimes. So even tho you're not eating much maybe even a glass of milk would line the stomach a bit?

MrsBryan Strep B - where do you get a test from? And do you send it away for results? I think both mum and baby have antibiotics immediately after birth. I'm sure my friend has it and that what's she said. But if they know ahead then lot less risk of complications. But don't quote me on that.

Ok I need to ask a daft question. Think I need to read some more baby books. I just thought ppl wore nonwired bras for comfort. But seriously does it really damage ducts etc. better go bra shopping then I guess. Even though my boobs are not small really I like the slightly thicker bra cups, let's just say I feel the cold and it shows lol iyswim?

Hope everyone has a goodnights sleep. On another late tomorrow, So maybe I'll manage another looooooong sleep :-)
    Night all xxxx

You should not have iron milk according to instructions. Or tea, or eggs. Or anti-acid meds (renne and alike). I am sure it will pass and I will be back to eating too much! I am still putting the weight on, so I guess it is not too bad.

Right, I better get going to bed. Have a good night's sleep everyone!

  • Tea? Really? I'm sure most of my patients have their morning ones with their cuppas! For those on long term iron they sometimes find they tolerate it better with a biscuit or something. Otherwise they get tummy ache or nausea. hope it settles soon. Night xx
