11 hours to go and I'm still the highest bidder with about £4 more left on my maximum bid! Doh!

MrsManda sorry you had such a scare, I'm glad everything is ok :) I hope you find your ring soon.

It's been very quiet since last night, I hope there are lots of babies being born :)

Hope you have a great lastday at work today happydays - and good luck in finding your wedding ring MrsManda, fingers crossed it turns up really soon.

:hello: to all - have GP appointment this afternoon. Due to my inner geek-ness, I have kept a diary of when/times the pain is really bad and what I have been doing prior to the pain - hope doc appreciates it! And I also very much hope that my physio appointment is soon.

    Have a good day all

Morning ladies. Its been very quiet on here, where are you all hiding?!

Emsbet, lol at the 2 pillows! You may well find that you like one more than the other though!

I think my naughty baby may well have turned back to cephalic position as the movement is all low again now. I think I'm growing a little boxer as it doesn't kick much but punches loads!! I wonder if they'll have a feel at my check up on monday, although as its a small baby it is probably still changing position all the time as it still hase quite a bit of room compared to most 33 weeks (tomorrow!) babies.

I didn't end up baking the cake last night as intended, we were at MIL's for tea and it was going to end up being rushed and stressful so I bought one from Tesco instead. Looks yummy too!

This baby is currently squishing my bladder, I've only just been to the toilet and can't possibly need to go again but it sooooo feels like I do!

Oooh MIL asked last night how soon she'd be able to see the baby so was a good opportunity to tell her than baby need to feed first so said we'll ring once its here then let her know once she can come up. Glad we had that conversation, I had visions of her sat at reception and coming in seconds after it arrived lol!

Lol!! I've got images of my MIL trying to sneak into the delivery room when she thinks I'm not paying attention. My FIL is in the process of moving back from Spain and has tried telling me I can't have it until he comes back!! Who does he think he is:mad: plus he definitely won't be coming into the delivery suite (he creeps me out!)

I've said to OH on the advice of my cousin who had a baby in August not to tell anyone when I go into labour as his friend just got bugged constantly by friends and family, well wishers as it was a long labour.

The last thing I want is the whole of OH's clan waiting outside (his family is massive!!)

Can I ask everyone's opinions on something please? Honest answers aren't minded at all as I jut want to know if it's me being a weirdo.
Right, my main reason for not breastfeeding is because my DS is 12 in June. I feel this would embarrass him and as it is just the two of us i don't want to push his nose out of joint or make him feel uncomfortable in his own house. Our house isn't big and so it isn't an option to always be in a different room etc. As it is just me and him I also feel it would be nice for him to bond with his brother and he has said he would like to learn to feed, change the baby etc.
However, I have been thinking, and i do recognise that during the night and when he's at school it would be a lot easier for me to be breastfeeding than have to faff around with bottles.
Is it just me being odd thinking a 12 year old wouldn't want to see his mum bf?

My 14 year old accepted it surprisingly quickly. After the first couple of 'urrghh' moments, he's now quite happy to sit and watch telly with me while I feed, or bring me drinks/tv remote/anything else I left just out of reach. :D Maybe just try it to start with and see how he takes it? Also helps, if you have a practical son, to emphasise how much more money you'll have to fritter on Xbox games and so on if you're not buying milk. ;) There's lots of other ways he can help out, and once you get feeding properly established, you could express for him to give the baby? Never bothered myself, but people do. :)

    Morning Girls and Bumps!

:rotfl: at Emsbet, I can just see you all propped up with gazillions of pillows around you!

Ohh, last day in the office Happy, I hope it goes well and they give you a good send off! :j

Glad to hear the MWs checked you over carefully MrsManda and that they are happy baby is OK :) It is reassuring when they are happy all is OK isn't it!

Lisa & Lola - I had to firmly tell my MIL that as she wasn't there when Elvis was conceived, she wasn't going to be there when she arrived either! Both MIL & FIL keep calling and telling me to get a hurry on as they are excited, I keep telling them that she'll arrive when she's good and ready (I have to keep telling myself this too as I am impatient to meet her).

I really don't want DH to let anyone know I am in labour if I can help it as I don't want all and sundry calling and asking for updates, it would be like someone tapping their watch next to me and saying "chop chop"!!!:eek::eek::mad::mad::mad:

  • Morning all :)

:rotfl:at the pillows Emsbet, at least you will be well supported :p

Have a great last day at work Happy :)

Nice and sunny here this morning so went out without my coat to take DS to school (first time so far this year), nipped to shop on way back and the man in the shop noticed the bump - felt really nice to have someone acknowledge the pregnancy even if he did ask 'are you expecting or...'. I can only assume the end of that was 'are you expecting or just putting on lots of weight' :rotfl:Was very happy to confirm I am expecting :p

I thought I would be safe from the MIL for a bit as she lives 4 hours away however she informed me last week that she has booked a hotel for the week before the due date (I will be having a c-section which will be booked in at 39 weeks) so she will be around when the baby is born.... I have informed OH that he has to mitigate visits for the first few days as I will need time to adjust - last thing I want is for MIL to be at my bedside 24/7 while I am trying to bond with baby :o

Icey - labour vibes to you, when are you seeing your midwife next?

woke up this morning with a mouth full of ulcers! Yuk!
luckily dp didnt have to start work until nine so took the boys to school for me.

im another one that has told my dp i dont want alot of people knowing when im in labour. i will tell my mum as she will be looking after the boys etc but i dont want the constant text messages id rather let people know when baby is here in my own time once im settled not as soon as the cord is cut!!!
