The only thing irritating me about my bump lately (apart from the fact Elvis is still in there) is that I end up sitting about 3 miles from my dinner plate and every night, without fail I spill something down my front!

Lol!! I know exactly what you mean, I was wearing a low cut top earlier and found some food inside my bra!!

2 days left in work!! :D

Fingers crossed the baby is due next Thurs, but I can't complain as everyone keeps saying I've had no problems except for swollen ankles.

Most people find they make then constipated but there is the occasional exception to the rule! My mum suffered with the runs when she initially started them, she had been told to take 2 tablets a day but cut down to 1 and was much better so perhaps try reducing your dose a little and see if that helps.

Blimey that's a bit organised! I'd personally be too scared to plan anything until the little monster is here safely but I guess its probably a bit different with all the problems we've had so far! I've never known anyone have more than 4 god parents but I assume there's no limit so why not!

Thanks for that Lisa, I sure am an exeption to the rule.

Ok, so I have some questions to ask (probably should have asked some of them yesterday but I forgot :o)

The first one is about vitamins; in the leaflet I was given by the doctor it says you should take folic acid up to 14 weeks. Is there any harm in taking it after then? The reason I ask is it in my pregnancy multivitamin. I have enough of them to last me until next week and was wondering if it was worth me buying more?

Have any of you been colouring your own hair? I read here that it's ok to colour your own hair but to just be aware you may become more sensitive to the dye. I would have preferred to have foils but I would usually get my sister to do it as she is a hair dresser but I won't be seeing her for a while and my hair has not been done since early December and I'm begining to look like a badger with these grey hairs coming through! :p

I was speaking to the midwife yesterday about waking up in the night with a really dry mouth and he suggested that I needed to increase my fluid intake in the day. I know I don't drink enough but he said that I should be drinking 3 litres a day  That seems a little excessive to me and I've looked online and everything I can find says about 2 litres. Anybody know which it should be? I don't think I'd be off the loo if I drank 3 litres a day! :p

Last one.... ;) I have been having a shooting pain on and off today that goes from just below (and slightly to the left of) my belly button down . Does this sound normal? It only lasts for 5-10 seconds then goes again and seems to be worse if I sit forward too much. I think it might be left over from my scan yesterday because that seemed to leave me feeling a bit sore where she had been pressing on my tummy.

Sorry for the stupid questions and the long ramble, I just thought I'd ask while I was thinking about these things :p:o

    xx

Tablets - i take the healthy start that my midwife gives me, have taken them everyday and am 37 weeks tomorrow. Folic acid can be taken everyday, i asked my mw.

Hair - i have had mine done at the hairdressers, bleached included, about 3 times now, again this is perfectly safe.

Fluid - i am bad and prob don't drink enough either - the guide is 2 litres for everyone, so i guess being pregnant it prob sounds about right being 3 litres although i don't but lately i have been very very thirsty - was in hosp over the weekend with anemia and dehydration so let that e a rule for you....i am trying to drink more * hurrys off to kitchen for drink *

No idea re the pain, stretching? Have you done more than usual?

Hope you are ok though and still smiling from yesterday emsbet :)

Emsbet, i have had those pains from a few days after I ovulated and still get them now occasionally.

I still take the tesco own multivits (occasionally i must admit as I keep forgetting, but did take them religiously until a few weeks ago), i asked my consultant about taking folic acid after the first 12-16 weeks and he said it won't have any effect (good or bad) on baby but is good for you as it helps you produce blood cells.

I'm very tired today, I can hardly keep my eyes open and I'm currently sharing my office with a management consultant.....falling asleep at your desk does not make a good impression lol!

I am like that too today Lisa and I am not at work, so so tired but had a good 8 hours sleep last night. Mind you I haven't stopped.

Got up at 7:30 with DS, made breakfast and dinner for OH to take to work, made a chocolate and banana cake with DS, went to morrisons, bought some plants, planted those out the front, changed bedding, put washing on, started preparing tea, washed up x 2 lol, been to OH's work with some of our cake and just sat down now. Swimming lessons with DS soon too. No rest for the wicked eh?!?

The worst thing about my bump is getting to the kitchen sink - it is my OH's job to wash up, he does it every day but with now being on mat leave i can't stand the breakfast stuff being there all day, normally i would be at work and not see them and they would get done with the tea stuff but now I am at home and have been baking etc there is more so i tend to do it - i get such bad back ache :(

I'm convinced my baby will come out black and blue the amount of times I forget I have a bump and bash the poor thing. Already jabbed what I think was a foot with the desk today. I can always tell if I am leaning on the desk without realising because baby makes a fuss until I move :o

For those ladies dropping food on bump, wait until baby is here ;) My little terror won't be put down so I need to put him in the baby carrier to eat, the other day I was shovelling my breakfast down me and a big dollop of weetabix landed on his head! :o

Well the midwife today was a distinctly pointless (and flattering) experience! Normal lovely MW was off, so we had some stand-in woman I've never met before in my life. Made me feel great when she called the two women in before me straight off, then proceeded to look at me suspiciously, obviously weighing up whether I was just really fat or pregnant before asking if I was there to see her.

Because she's not the usual - she couldn't access the 28 week bloods on the system to see if they'd come back ok, or any of the stuff back from the hospital about GTT or anything (although they'd have called me in if needs be I'm sure), couldn't take my blood pressure initially as the machine never works for me (other MW knows to use a manual thingee on me)... then couldn't book me for my next appointment as that week is completely fully booked with no way of squeezing anyone else in at all -so these 28 week bloods might well get looked at and discussed by about week 35 or something!

So no chance to discuss a couple of very trivial concerns I've been having, no chance to do the discussions I'm MEANT to be having around this point in time, and god-knows what my bloods came back as but I'm hoping nothing sinister since no one's gonna see 'em for weeks on end!

Then as I was coming out on crutches because I'm in blooming agony today - not one, but two evil cows using buggies as weapons of mass destruction both took it upon themselves to try to poleaxe me out of the way as I was slowing them down (despite hanging right over to the edge of the pavement to take as little room as possible) - getting really sick of witches ramming buggies into the back of my legs on purpose in an attempt to force me back inside the house where they think I should be out of the way of them.

Oh dizzi that isn't great is it. I had a strange midwife once and I just couldn't take to her. So she really just expects you to not see anyone cos they haven't got any appointments? That surely can't be right as it isn't your fault they are busy. Is there any chance you can phone your own midwife at some point?

For the sake of a week or so it's not worth it - especially since I get the double-header of consultant appointments anyway... just found it amusing that they're booked up for the next month and then trying to fit in the poor due-to-pop women who are up to weekly appointments! I know when regular MW is there that she'll slot in extra non-clinic sessions if people need to see her and the docs are fully booked - just with it being this cover woman she doesn't have that flexibility.

Of course the fact this cover one can't access test results and the like on the GP's system and can literally only input pee/blood pressure/fundal height is more of a concerning issue really.
