Thanks for all your comments. No one has remotely offended me as i think our choices are exactly that and if we were all the same it would be boring. I may try and speak to him and just see what he says. If he goes bright red and scarpers ill know to keep my gob shut. We are just so close and have had a rough time the past few months that i feel his point of view should be considered and i dont want him to feel that just because there is another child in the house that his opinion is any less valid. After what we have been through he is probably wise beyond his years and so i dont think he will take offence at being asked and im sure i will get an honest response and we will go from there. Thanks ladies.
Congratulations Seren. Seems like you went through the mill but at least you now have your little bundle safe in your arms. Cant wait for pics.
Snoopy im so glad you havent gone AWOL. Booked the christening? My lordy, you are even more OCD than you portray...lol. Sorry that you have had to go on insulin but like you say if its best for the the baby then that is what you do. Think at 32 weeks my munchkin was 4lb 6 so we are probably about the same size but you have the added complications of the diabetes.
Well my midwife went absolutely fine. My wee is back to normal so the antibiotics must have worked and my BP is nice and low again so all is well. Head is still down so couldnt have gone better really. Got an appt booked for the 21st March which is 2 days before my birthday so hope that goes well as i have a night out planned. Im going to be 35, i feel about 95 these days. At work now but cant be bothered so gonna just chill out and keep a screen open to flick back to if people walk in the room. Im so over this work malarkey.

Right, my main reason for not breastfeeding is because my DS is 12 in June. I feel this would embarrass him and as it is just the two of us i don't want to push his nose out of joint or make him feel uncomfortable in his own house. Our house isn't big and so it isn't an option to always be in a different room etc. As it is just me and him I also feel it would be nice for him to bond with his brother and he has said he would like to learn to feed, change the baby etc.
However, I have been thinking, and i do recognise that during the night and when he's at school it would be a lot easier for me to be breastfeeding than have to faff around with bottles.
Is it just me being odd thinking a 12 year old wouldn't want to see his mum bf?DD1 27/5/1992

Thanks greenroom. Its nice to know that someone else has successfully done it. Ill definitely speak to him and suss him out about it. Like you say, maybe after the initial embarrassment he will be cool with it.DS1 born June 2000

Most people find they make then constipated but there is the occasional exception to the rule! My mum suffered with the runs when she initially started them, she had been told to take 2 tablets a day but cut down to 1 and was much better so perhaps try reducing your dose a little and see if that helps.snoopytweety wrote: »Ohhh and one last thing in this yet again epic post (I should log on every day and do small ones - sorry), please don't tease me, but we booked the little lady's christening the other day!!! Now to make invites, and start planning food and guest lists - do you think 6 godparents is excessive - we can't choose between them???? x x x
Blimey that's a bit organised! I'd personally be too scared to plan anything until the little monster is here safely but I guess its probably a bit different with all the problems we've had so far! I've never known anyone have more than 4 god parents but I assume there's no limit so why not!0 -
My husband is Irish, and he was shocked that you have multiple Godparents over here. In Ireland you just get one and they're almost always a close family member. Both my brother and I have 3, 2 ladies and a man for me, two men and a lady for him, and that's what we're planning with our little one. How far after your LO is born are you planning the Christening Snoopytweety? Again I shocked DH by saying it's a few months over here, it's always within 3 weeks where he's from.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I'm hoping to give the BF thing my best shot, I had a breast reduction almost 15 yrs ago so I am realistic that if I can achieve combination feeding of boob and bottle I will be doing well.
If it doesn't work out then I know that I have given it my best and woe betide any medical professional that tries to give me a lecture!!
My friends have warned me that it is incredibly hard work and although it might be "natural" this doesn't make it any easier. To my mind hats off if you can do it, no problem if you can't - as long as your baby is fed and gaining weight its all good!!!

Icey this may well be a ridiculous question. But if you combination feed do you still have to express to keep your milk supply up at the times you are using formula? That doesnt make a lot of sense does it but i know what i mean!!DS1 born June 2000

your supply will adjust to how often you feed, so for example if you have 8 feeds a day and you chose to bottle feed 4 of those and breast feed 4, then if you keep that up, your milk should adjust to that.
Breast milk is basically supply and demand. Or that's how it should be.
Some people may just do top up though, so breast feed at the start of the feed and then give the formula after. It all depends how you want to do it.The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Jovichick - I have never breastfed for the same reasons as you. If people (apart from close family) ask if I intend to breastfeed I never know what to say as I don't want to feel looked down on if you know what I mean, maybe people wouldn't look down on me and it's just me being silly thinking that!! Breast-feeding. Can be such a touchy subject at times. Xx:)DS1 10yrs
