    Morning all

Sammie poor you with the ulcers, what are you using for them? Anbesol liquid works best for me.

Mrsmanda hope you find your ring, fingers crossed.

happy wohooooo enjoy your lat day honey :)

emsbet are we all invited to the pillow party???!?

lisa how can you tell if they are kicks or punches? I have no idea.

Have a good day all. Sat here watching jezza, finding the energy to have a shower and go out to get all i need for the hospital bag, then meeting a friend for a catch up this aft, after I have taken OH his dinner as forgot to make it last night, well forgot is an excuse, couldn't be bothered. He has been working late a lot as he has a big job to get out and has set himself a deadline of 18th march, not due til 29th but he is being very well organised. DS keeps asking him about making the nursing chair to go in our room, so he came home early last night (well 7pm not that early considering) to do it before DS went to bed, only to find there were no nuts, bolts, screws or god damn instructions to make it.........bought it off ebay but it was brand new so expected everything with it....

thanks flutterby i will be popping to the chemist to get something for them soon. i have bonjela here but its an extra stength gel that has something in it that means kids cant use it so not sure if it is safe to use in pregnancy. dont really want to risk it as it has a big warning on the box!!

how annoying about the nursing chair, i would of thought the fittings would come with it too. good luck getting everything for your hospital bag, you havent got long left so get packing!! ;)

I haven't used this during pregnancy (anbesol) but couldn't see why you couldn't. I have non here to check for you sorry. I get ulcers every month when due on but not had any during pregnancy, weird hey?!

I have got a bag ready with most things, just the last few bits, scratch mitts etc, but if the sleep suits have them turn over things I don't know if I will bother, never did with DS.
  • Morning ladies,

First morning of Mat leave where I have actually managed to stay in bed later than normal work time, woke up at 9, and felt guilty so jumped up and got dressesd - why do I feel guilty, it's so odd!!!

Popping into town today to get a few bits and to buy a pressie for my cousin who has just had her baby girl - going visiting tonight, to hold my first new born since findingout I was pregnant - can't wait!

I have some other jobs to do - and work, but honestly cannot be bothered lol. x

I hardly ever get ulcers so my sure what is going on!! I said to dp last night that my Tongue felt swollen then I woke up this morning with ulcers everywhere!!

I have bought a 3 pack of scratch mits and packed one pair as most of the sleepsuits I nought have the fold over ones attached too. I don't know whether to put my bags in our boot so they are out of the way but don't want to jinx myself and go 2 weeks over!! I might just carry on tripping over them for a bit!!

:rotfl: at Emsbet, I can just see you all propped up with gazillions of pillows around you!

Haha! It might stop DH moving over to my side of the bed during the night so I have to sleep perched on the edge! ;) Maybe I could build a wall of pillows! :p
:rotfl:at the pillows Emsbet, at least you will be well supported :p

:p Maybe I will keep both if I win the second one and have one for lounging on the sofa with ;)
emsbet are we all invited to the pillow party???!?

I think I might need to buy more pillows for all the bumps! :)

Hope you have a nice last day at work Happy!

I'm clock watching today as we are off to see Derren Brown tonight and I'm super excited :D We bought the tickets last summer so we've been waiting ages to see him! Just hope I don't fall asleep during the show! ;)

Thanks everyone for your kind words. I'm really happy with the way I was treated at the maternity unit, hopefully it'll be the same when I need them for labour :) It's strange because I was slightly worried as the unit gets a lot of complaints but now I've been there a few times I think that;s mainly because they make an effort to get you to comment and make any issues known so that they can improve.

I turned the house upside down this morning, systematically searching every room. Was getting to the despairing stage when I decided to sweep the kitchen floor which involved moving a couple of empty squash bottles waiting to go into the recycling box. My wedding ring was sat quite happily underneath one of the bottles :) :T
It's really tiny so even under a clear bottle it was impossible to see. It's also irreplaceable not just because it's the ring I got married with but because it was my OH's great great grandmother's - hadn't been used for over 70 years when my inlaws offered it to me because it was too small for anyone in the family who'd got married since the great great grandmother died.

But all is good as it's found :):):)

Was planning on cleaning the bathroom but my OH says I look like I'm going to fall over so has sent me to rest for awhile instead. Hopefully get it does later because it's a mess and really needs doing.

Hope everyone's having a good day

    Hi,

Yeah good mostly thanks - I know it all seems so odd, although I am still unsure as to exactly when I will be going to - might have to alter that date again! Although - started the insulin on Tuesday and now my bloods are creeping up high again, so it might stay the same, oh I don't know lol - this pregnancy malarky is so complicated sometimes

    How are you doing? x

    I've been Money Tipped!

I thought I would be safe from the MIL for a bit as she lives 4 hours away however she informed me last week that she has booked a hotel for the week before the due date (I will be having a c-section which will be booked in at 39 weeks) so she will be around when the baby is born.... I have informed OH that he has to mitigate visits for the first few days as I will need time to adjust - last thing I want is for MIL to be at my bedside 24/7 while I am trying to bond with baby :o

    Jovi x

OMG! I thought my mother was bad! She lives 5 hours drive away and has told me she expects a call when I go into labour so she can start packing her bags. She then wants another call when the baby arrives so she and Pops can get on the road.

When my sister went into labour, she had previously arranged with Dad that he would mind her dog as the hospital was more than an hour away from their house and her DH was going to have to stay in a local hotel for a few nights. She rang saying "I need you to mind the dog, we're leaving now", she didn't want my mother to know because she would fuss, so my poor father was left trying to come up with an excuse as to why his daughter was on the phone, one day overdue and needed to have her dog minded. It didn't take a genius to figure it out. Mother grabbed the phone and started shouting "Stay calm, stay calm, keep breathing" down the phone at my sister. She then took to ringing her every two hours to see how things were going. Considering she had to have a c-section after 24 hours due to lack of progress, it was a long 24 hours with nothing to report.

She is due to give birth again in May and will be getting somebody else to mind the dog this time! She has been given a date for her c-section already but hasn't told anybody except me because I live 5 hours drive away.

As DH's family live 2 hours away and my family are 5 hours away, I'm not exactly worried about being swamped at the hospital. Given their policy of pushing you out the door of the hospital as soon as possible, I'm pretty sure they will be visiting me at home rather than at the hospital.

If your worried about excessive long visits from the MIL, why don't you get your DH to ring her (only after the baby is born) and say she can visit but only for 20 minutes as you are exhausted. The following day he can come up with another excuse - she probably just wants to help so if you let her cook some meals at your house while you're in hospital, she will feel like she is being of some use, which is why she wants to be there in the first place.
