Emsbet I would say you will be fine with Subway for dinner, I had one the other week and all was fine - didn't even occur to me not to have it :o

Good because I've just bought one :o

Ladies, just after some advice please. I'm 14 weeks and this week am having the worst week ever. I just can't stop puking! This is the 1st time I've felt this bad in my pregnancy so far. I work full time in an office and have to keep taking time off which I hate doing but I just don't feel I can work the way I'm feeling. Has anyone any tips or advice on what to do? How did you ladies cope with the sickness and working? I'm tempted to go to the docs but I'm not sure what they will realistically be able to do?

Like Lola, I haven't had morning sickness this time round but did suffer badly with DS, I found eating little and often helped, nibble on ginger biscuits whenever you start to feel sick and keep your fluids up as much as you can. For me, it went away by about the 16th week so take comfort in the fact that you might be coming to the end of it now :)

With regards to work, don't feel guilty, theres not very much you can do about it and you will probably find they will be understanding (I assume they know about the pregnancy?)

Good luck and hope you feel better soon :)

I had to throw up quite a few times in work (and I am in an office all day and some days would be constantly going to and from the loo one way or another!). I never felt like eating, but forced myself to - it was always worse when I didn't have something on my stomach. My mother-in-law recommended arrowroot biscuits - Crawfords do some in a yellow and red packet and I ate those a few times. I am not sure if they had any active ingredients in them, but they seemed to have a consistency which settled my stomach a bit. I also ate those small packets of snack-a-jacks from time to time which seemed to settle my stomach.

I basically felt nauseous on and off a lot, but by eating I kept the throwing up at bay and kept telling myself it was nothing new as it wasn't as bad as some hangovers I had in the past :rotfl:

Plus... I felt like the morning sickness was a good thing in a way as it was a physical manifestation of the pregnancy when I wasn't looking preggers and couldn't feel movement, so it comforted me in a way :)

Apparently you have to eat a whole pack of ginger biscuits to get any benefit from the ginger in them (such small amounts) so that is probably not recommended! I did buy some candied ginger covered in yoghurt from a health food shop, but I don't really like ginger so ended up giving them away as sick feelings subsided around 18 weeks or so :T

    Hope you feel better soon.

I had my 25 week appointment with the midwife today and got to listen to the heartbeat and got the bump measured which was 25 cms and apparently spot on for my stage. :j It has put me in such a good mood. Plus, I dug out of my wardrobe a nice dress that I bought from Monsoon in the sales a long while ago which I haven't worn much as it previously made me look pregnant (gathered under the chest and then flares out). Now I am I don't mind :p

Slightly odd question but as I am sat here being kicked to high heaven by little man, I just wondered if anyone else has found that their baby seems to have a favourite side to attack from? Mine seems to kick/punch my left hand side 80% of the time... to be honest, today it feels like he is making a bid for freedom - a bit like the scene from Alien :rotfl:

Hello ladies. Not read back yet but will do later. Only one hour more at work and then I'm going to chill out at home for a few weeks before my little bundle arrives. I'm very excited.
Hope we are all having a lovely day. I just had a lovely White chocolate cookie and now my insides are like a boxing ring. Bless him.

I'm a big hormonal mess today and feel like crying at work, had a big meeting this morning where I was sure we'd be able to get agreement to our funding so I could get maternity cover sorted etc and know whether I'll have a job to return to or not and we couldn't reach an agreement so I have to wait another week til we can meet again to sort anything out. I don't know if I feel this upset because of my hormones or because I feel utterly knackered and stressed out but I feel like going home, hiding in bed and having a good old cry. DH doesn't understand work stress, doesn't feel it, and thinks I'm some kind of mad woman for getting all upset.

On a more positive note, at least I have you guys, don't know what I'd do without this forum, I'd be completely in pieces especially as after work the next worry I have is visitors and it's nice not to feel alone with that :p

Anymo what a nightmare. I can understand why you are so stressed. Sometimes I also feel like hiding and bawling my eyes out and on occasion I actually do it. How long have you got left at work?
I don't think men can understand how these hormones make us feel and maybe he just doesn't realise how much support you need at the moment.
I know it sounds a cliche but things will get better. Just rant away to us as there's always someone about to reassure you.
I hope the rest of your day goes ok xx
