Has anyone used the liners with the washables? I remember looking at some ebay lots and they included liners. I assumed these would be used on top of your nappy, and then just 'disposed' off with any 'gifts'... Meaning, saves scraping the 'gift' off the nappy down the loo. Or have I got this wrong?

I haven't look much into them, we are starting with the disposables, and I already have 600 size 1, 100 size 2 and about 150 size 3. Have 8 more vouchers from Huggies starter packs to use up, so was going to get few more packs of size 2 and then wait and see. Or am I better getting size 2 ones?.... Or half and half?.... I am lost!!!! (we are having twins, so even though the numbers look big they are not going to last long going on an average estimate of 100+ nappies a week)

There are a few types of liners

Paper liners - catches poo, disposed of in the bin - not stay dry
Flushable liners - as above but gets put down the loo - some are stay dry
Viscose liners (Little lambs do them i think) - as above - in bin - comfier on bums and stay dry i think
Fleece liners - catches poo - poo rolls off down loo - stay dry and re-usuable
Silk liners - great for sore bums

Some of the other liners can be washed and used a 2nd or 3rd time, IME bambino mio, PHP and onelifes can be reused a few times if they have only been wee'd on.

But if your using a fleece lines pocket I dont think you would need a liner unless your baby has really sticky poo.

Thanks Sammie xx The Dr reckons its a migraine i have had all weekend, and that eating chocolate, cheese and red wine will make it worse.... my reply was "oh i dont eat cheese or have red wine anyway" he said " and i`m guessing at 39 weeks preg ur living on chocolate" haha he guessed right!! Haagen dazs is still on offer in tesco so i got more of that this morn ;) That wont help my tooth and ear infection, but will cheer me up at least :) Enjoy ur cookies! xx

Emmylou - hope the medication makes difference soon!!!!

Has anyone had pain at the top of the bump, just under the boobs? I got this on Saturday evening first, was sitting on the sofa, an suddenly when I wanted to stand up I had these sharp pains, a bit cramp like? Then had them again on Sunday, and now even during the day at work!!!!! Not pleasant at all, and don't know what to do. I guess it is something to do with my posture, but the desk at work is what it is and the chair as well, I can' change any of it...

Yes I've had that. I asked the midwife at the time and she said it was nothing to worry about - probably just my bad posture.

Quite a few of us on here have posted about the pain Gin, think its where the uterus is pushing up :( The only thing the Dr will say is take paracetamol......which doesnt help me personally :( I find mine is better when i`m laid down, altho thats obviously not possible when ur at work! Its seems to be quite common tho, so try not to worry xx

Reuseables are great but my DD is such a heavy wetter that even with a hemp insert AND double-layered insert she often soaks through to clothes and we end up with more washing than before. We have to change her every 90 minutes with a reuseable so tend to use them only at home and when going out we use disposables.
We find combining the 2 works best other wise we'd have to use about 12 reuseables a day:eek:
I love Fuzzi Bunz and Bum Genius as the poo just flops off without much effort and they are a great fit with poppers...the velcro fastenings get lots of fluff and lint in...but that's probably due to me not using the tabs on the side to protect them:p:o:o

The nappysite.co.uk is a great site for bargains - and has quite a few of the popular brands.:money:

    Hi Gin,

Yep I have that pain too, I had a search around online, it seems to be called rib flare, I only get it on my right side and by 4pm at work I'm done in, hence I have taken a flexi day off today to give myself a 3 day pain-free weekend! I am going to ask my midwife about it on wed, but I gather it's a normal thing, can't do much about it and apparently eases when LO drops, ah the joys! :rotfl:
