  • Anyone know if there is a way of easing restless legs? Mine are driving me crazy!!!

Glad they sorted the car our for you lovecrafting - I cant believe they would sell it like that! Hope they gave you the money for the wasted fuel too. I need to get one sorted next month, mine was written off in December and although I have had the pay out I haven't got round to replacing it yet. I'm after a Focus so does narrow my search somewhat!!

Laura I feel your pain, 40 days left for me, unless we hear about our funding earlier and we know for sure our project will still be here I might finish with annual leave a little earlier, but it's looking unlikely :(

I'll only leave 12 days before my due date - if I get that far. But my OH works round the corner from me so better for him to be close by anyway :)
  • Amymoo were training her at the moment but she is only 17 monthsold soshe has only been arround toddlers and older kids, before we had her we had another lab who we had had from being 8 weeks old she was around when all of the kids were born, mainly its making sure the dog still feels included and a part of the pack, when you bring baby home let the dog have a sniff at the wee one, the dog will lick the baby its an important part of the process and really needs to be done as soon as possible. with dogs they see the family unit as a pack and this small person is comming in and will be above the baby in the pecking order, the dog needs to know this is ok and he is still important.

when dd3 came home from hospital we made sure the dog had a good sniff and we let her lick the baby, this will only happen two or three times and honestly wont do the baby any harm. it helps because when the baby is in the bouncy chair the dog will have worked out to egnore it you will probably find that the dog will be protective over baby if you have had her a wile because the dog already knows you are pregnant, as far as the dog is concerned you are having a litter and once they have been introduced natural instinct tells the dog to leave the baby (in the dogs eyes a pup) alone. remember tho, no matter what happens or how much you trust the dog, never leave them in a room alone, i know its stating the obvious but any dog can turn. wilst feeding baby the dog will try and sit next to you, the dog needs t know this is ok because otherwise it will feel left out, its just like having older siblings in a way, make sure they are allowed to say hello, make sure they still have time where there stroked etc.

i dont know if you have one, but there is a product called a kong, you put food etc in it and it keeps them entertined, a good way of making the dog sit over the other side of the room etc wilst you are dealing with the baby (and therefore learning to egnore baby) is to use the kong as a treat. i filled it with peanut butter and left it in the freezer, gave it to the dog once baby had been home for half an hr or so and the dog was more interested in the food (instinct tells them that if you have the baby in your arms and give food to them you still love them) i hope this helps and makes sence.x

no he didnt refund the money for the fuel but i was so stressed i just wanted it fixed or my old car back.

we just sold our focus last night lol typical. thats the problem we had, we needed 7 seats but needed the space aswel, that basicly narrowed it down to the toyota estima so we had to travel for it, was a bargain tho. we paid 1300 for it got 400 for the focus but had 128 to pay for the tax so paid 1028. it seems alot for a car but they are jap imports and you just cant kill them

    Morning everyone,
after a truly rotten day yesterday I'm hoping for a much more productive day today.

Hugs to all the boldies, hope baby arrives soon :)
quick question to the boldies - for those who had their EDD changed at their dating scan from what they'd worked it out to be, are you overdue on your scan date or your own dates?

Laura, only way I've ever been able to stop restless limbs (in my case it's normally restless/shaking hands and arms) is to knock back a shot of straight vodka.
    - alcohol works as a depressant on your nervous system so reduces the excitability of your nerves.
Unfortunately it's not really recommended in pregnancy.

My dates have always remained the same, sorry.
To be honest, I'm not 100% how they work the edd out. With me, my first day of my last period was 30th April 2011. I used the clearblue fertility monitor, so know I ovulated between days 11-14. So to me, 40wks from then would be closer to 15-17th Feb 2012. But they always have said the 4th, and scans backed up the 4th too.

Sammie - thanks for taking charge of the lists! :)

    Hi all,

As I understand the dating scan checks the size of the baby which then determines how old the baby is and is much more accurate than using the day of your last period etc as even if you know when you did the deed, there is the uncertainty of when conception has taken place, whether in the womb or the filopean (?) tubes.

Feeling quite rotten again :(, as even though i've been over the trotts for about a week and a half I have now got another cold! I can't believe how many cold viruses there must be out there! This is now about my 5th cold since getting pregnant and my 3rd since December. Just getting totally fed up with it now :( and hate the fact I know i'm catching them at work (when I'm well enough to go in) but still have to go in - it's like a death sentence!

Thinking now I'll try and go on maternity leave as early as I can afford to, just so I stop getting these bugs!

What makes it even worse is that my doctors have run out of the flu vacine and have decided not to get anymore in (found this out in November) and found out yesterday that I could paid to have it at boots  and it might have saved me some of this misery!
