Question (i'll post on the newborn thread too) - I really really don't want a sweep when I see my midwife this Thursday. Can they induce using other methods without having to do the sweep.
I just feel like there's no room for baby anymore and my ribs are starting to kill me

Think I'm getting mixed up. Looked back and you got your scan today. Lack of sleep is a bad thing :o

  • Well awful end to today. The fur baby has got a problem with his spine, looking at an CT scan and operation costing £2500. We are insured but as he's older we have to pay 35% of this. I know some people will think i'm mad 4 weeks before having a baby but there's just no question about us not paying it. He's my baby and i'd do anything for him! I'm a bit of a mess at the mo, crying and snotty i keep thinking poor baby she doesn't know what a mess her mother is :) At least the fur baby has had 7 years to get used to me :) Luckily as i finish work on thursday means when he gets home i'll be here to look after him, apparently op has a 95% success rate so keeping everything crossed

Ah Darkphaery, so sorry!!! I'm the same with my 3 cats, I would do anything for them. They are a part of the family, not just pets.

Really hope the op goes ok, will be holding thumbs and crossing fingers x

  • Oh wow, you ladies have been busy and you sure can talk. I go away for one week and come back to over 30 pages of reading, triplets and pineapple talk. But i'm finally caught up :D. Massive congratulations to all those getting mummy cuddles and welcome o anyone who has recently joined.

So i've moved house now and the house is a tip and I'm still trying to get organised. The baby cots are up and their clothes are all hung up ready to be washed. Nappies and wipes are also organised ready to go.

Babies are now super active and their kicks are getting super strong. Everyone seems to be having a GTT test at 28 weeks. Is it compulsory? No one has said anything about this to me :o.

Feel like my organisation can now go into overdrive, need moses baskets, blankets and bedding, pushchair lots of bits. Everyone keeps saying I should have a baby shower but i hate throwing any kind of party. Can't I just give them a gift list to buy me stuff? :rotfl:

Still getting bigger by the day and now look the same size as my nine month pregnant friend :o

    Dashikii - Hi

Usually most of the time they'll do the test if they find sugar/glucose in your urine. If they do, they'll do a GTT. Also if you have a high BMI they might do the test.

Baby shower - can your best friend not throw it for you. I've never been to one where the mother throws it herself, but not too sure how it works in the UK. In SA, your friends would usually organise it for you inviting all your other friends. They can be a surprise or not. My best friend got a list from me of all the stuff I still needed, and everyone just got something off the list. And its a great excuse to see everyone before baby comes!

I'm in 2 minds about the sweep. I find smear tests agonising, really painful. So I can imagine this would be the same.
Oh well, I've got till Thursday to decide. The way I feel his movements now, It's like he's running out of room!

I'm watching my usual, ER! Annoyingly, my 3 kitties have decided its time to play and Chase each other around the house!
