lovecrafting wrote: »its just down to prefrence with the nappies to be honest, some people swear by huggies and never use pampers, i find pampers better for my kids because there skin was so sensitive. altho my youngest is now four and huggies could have changed alot since then, one thing i definatley dont like is huggies wipes. i find them hard to get out of the pack and they feel horrible on my hands, but i have super sensitive skin it bleeds when i use certain products like fairy washing up liquid. or bold washing powder. one thing i have found with pampers is if you get any faulty ones like the tab comming off, send them back and they send you a voucher for a new pack. i havent found that with huggies, even tho they are both made by proctor and gamble (or used to be anyway)
exactly, i think for every person that doesnt like a certain brand you will find someone that swears by them. i think once baby is here and we have been through a couple of different brands of everything we all find our favs. xx:)DS1 10yrsDS2 7yrs :)DS3 born March 2012

Didn't mean to scare you Ginvzt
Huggies were fine last time until DS got older, we used them pretty much exclusively until he reached 1ish at which point we switched. As lovecrafting said, they have improved since so don't worry, I think it's down to personal preference
I found Asda's sensitive wipes very good - can't really remember what Huggies ones were like
Happydays Yep, I am another with a sizeable age gap - I feel like I am starting from scratch, the baby years seem so far away am worrying I am not going to remember anything :rotfl:DS is very cute though, before he goes to bed, he gives the baby a kiss (kisses my belly) and it's nice that he is more aware of the fact that he is gaining a brother, hes really excited bless him0 -

I know, most of them are from huggies starter packs, so came for free. I use baby wipes myself anyway for face in the evening, and always have a pack in each car, so I am sure they won't go to waste...Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
I think it very much depends on the size/shape of the baby as well as to whether nappies leak or not. Amelia has been in Huggies mainly since birth with the odd Pampers and we've not had any leaks yet (touch wood...).
Huggies are made by Kimberly Clark now.
Oh and not that I'm rubbing it in but I've just had pate on toast for a snack and it was soooo yummy! I've been looking forward to having that for nine months!:j Debt Free 27.07.2011!! :j0 -

Reading the recent posts is making me feel very unprepared
We bought a moses basket and stand a few weeks ago because it seemed like a good deal and we really liked it. It's currently stashed at my inlaws. Other than that we haven't bought anything. The only baby stuff in the house are freebies from the Bounty packs and information from the midwife.
We're going shopping with the inlaws at the weekend so they feel more involved in the whole baby/first grandchild thing. We're going to Mamas and Papas and Babies R Us to look at prams and car seats and possibly get some maternity wear for me.
Providing the weather behaves my mum and sister are visiting in half term so I'll be taking them around the baby shops - may brave Kiddicare again as it'll be the middle of the week. Again mainly to ensure they feel involved.
Started feeling really bleugh again today and have totally lost the will to study
Got a friend staying over tonight which will be nice - it's a good excuse for takeout because he gets £15 for staying with us rather than getting his employers to pay for a hotel
Just need to feel better by the time he arrives0 -
i feel un prepared aswel, we do have the big stuff but i still need to get blankets, sheets clothes, steriliser you name it i need it i have been putting it off tho to be honest, i think i am the only woman in the world that detests shopping. i do have some bits that i have knitted and the pram, moses basket and cot. im going to find out if you still get that maternity grant tho, i dont know if its stopped or is still going.0
