My mum and dad gave us the money for the travel system we got, but DH's folks won't and nor will they help out (thank goodness). I think we are very lucky.

awh its so exciting for parents too i guess as they want to buy and buy. my mum is lovely like that. she always wants to buy stuff for my nieces, however they only wear expensive stuff so sometimes that stops her. i was saying i really dont care about buying from primark, Tescos etc as baby clothes are used up so quickly.

Omeprazole and ranitadine work in different ways. They both work to reduce stomach acid but do it differently. Omeprazole's one of a class of drugs called protein pump inhibitors whilst ranitidine (interestingly) is a type of antihistamine I believe (although not the type that you'd take for hayfever).

Omeprazole's great stuff. I've been using it for years for acid reflux and it's been a life saver (in fact it quite literally is a life saver - since PPIs came on the market, perforated ulcers are really rare).

Right, off for a 'tickle your fancy' from the midwife. They're brutal though, aren't they - midwives. I see them as the Geoff Capes of the nursing world

Can I confess that I have yet to buy a single nappy? The only offers I've come across have been on size 4 upwards, and I just don't have room to store them, knowing they won't get used for a while. I don't mind buying sizes 1, 2, or 3, just haven't found a good enough offer (or maybe I'm in a tiny bit of denial....ahem).

Despite already having 2 girls, DH and I agreed on some girls name ideas straight away (Zoe, Imogen, or Merryn). Of course it turns out we're having a boy and we're really struggling to find ones we both like, and that go with our surname. We had a shortlist of 4 but I'm starting to get bored with them already, plus they're not totally unusual so I'm worried there'll be several of them in the same school if you see what I mean.

rjh - if you move down to Dorset you'll be near me! Didn't think anyone on here ventured this far down south :rotfl:

fluff - hope your cervix is 'favourable' and so the sweep is not too uncomfortable.

Griggsy, is it omeprazole you've been given? If so it's fab stuff :T

Ikkle - I believe Next do maternity trousers in XL? Not a problem I have mnyself (even petites are too long for me lol) but I remember my SIL had to get hers from there as she's a 32" leg. She had to get them online but it was a while ago now so that may have changed.

omg that sounds fab! thanks.. quick quesiotn though. how early can one buy wipes etc as dont they dry out? also with nappies - heard they have expiry dates!

Thanks but it was Cakes4Brains asking hun. I've a 33" inside leg but like I say still in pre-pregnancy clothes and they aren't feeling uncomfy so will probably stick with them for the foreseeable now.

Our pram was delivered to the house in the boxes, so we had to construct it. Top tip - DON"T try and do this when you are a little bit overtired and it's 10pm - cue massive toddler style tantrum and crying fit when I couldn't collapse it first go.
