My goodness that took me an age to read back and I only missed one day!

Re names My DH and I are struggling and we only need to pick a girls name. We did contemplate using my maiden name but giving her two first names so its not just like we couldn't think of a name so gave you my surname. However, DH doesn't see the point in giving two names if you only use one any way (if that makes sense). At the minute I have a baby name book from the States as I sort of want an unusual and not common name and one which doesn't spell out anything stupid with her initials - one of the names I like would of spelt out EGG! We've decided to go in with a list of names we like then try and decide when we see her, but most likely she will come home with no name.

In terms of worrying relaxation techniques can be quite useful. There are loads out there such as breathing techniques like the 7/11 where you breathe in for 7 out for 11 etc or visualisation ones where you try to visualisea relaxing place. I find ones which talk you through the technique can be helpful but its all down to choice. For example I got some relaxation CDs from my GP and I hated them due to the music the guy used in the background. Another one I didn't like the persons voice. There are also some techniques which are used in CBT practice which you could try but it would be a case of googling it and seeing what works for you.
when I need anything done at the dentist I tend to take my ipod and listen to music. I know others who do the same and get a hand massage from the dental nurse at the same time.

Saw the GI consultant and now on top of all my medication for reflux I need to take ometrazole (sp) as well. I did confirm it twice as I thought that rinitadine and ometrazole were the same.... Go back in a couple of weeks to see if I need the whole camera down the throat thing

My DH has asked me to ask on here about prams in the sense that the shop where we bought ours basically makes it up for you and he wanted to know if this is normal as he would rather do it himself (dont ask why). Also if the shop you got it from did make it up did you get the box it came in?

For those of you who have vouchers and are looking for nappies Tescos have the size one huggies for £2.49 (or there abouts) so potentially making them 49p and the size 3 upwards in the blue packaging for 1/2 price (I put this on FB but not on here).

Our shop asked if we wanted it in a box or made up. We said made up - at least the shop checked no parts are missing and that there are no problems with the pram when they were making it up.
When we went to pick it up the lady once again went with us over how to fold it, attach things etc using our own pram this time.
We didn't get the box but that's good as it would mean another trip to the skip. We've no place to store empty boxes.

Oh dear, the name I want for my baby is one of those listed above :( but I've heard it's going down in popularity ...

Oh gosh sorry I didn't mean they were horrible names lol! I just meant that because my names are standard, good, well rounded english names i get funny looks lol!

p.s they are the names of family members which is why i reeled them off in particular!

We tried out our pram in a shop but got it cheaper on the internet. So then we got it all out and checked that everything that should be there is there.

We still haven't made it up though, once it gets closer I'm sure we will though (obviously).

BTW thanks to those that asked if I was feeling better - I am. Although there was a bit of a fight between me and bump this morning when it felt as though he had taken up residence on my right lung! Cue lots of weird positions and an ice cube....mummy won! :D

My MIL has bought us the pram (trying to sort out delivery of this at the moment as we've ordered from a shop in London via the phone - found on the net) and my parents have bought us the cotbed etc Rups. We chose what we wanted and they paid. It's nice to not have to worry about the cost of some of the bigger items.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Our MIL gave as a cheque and said to buy a cot and anything else we need for the cot - sheets, bedding etc.

My mum and dad haven't offered anything but they are coming over for almost 3 weeks to help with the baby and housework and the journey here will cost them an awful lot. I didn't tell them MIL gave us money as I don't want them to think I expect something from them. I'm sure they'll bring little bits and pieces though as I know my mum already went wild in clothes shops!

My mum and dad gave us the money for the travel system we got, but DH's folks won't and nor will they help out (thank goodness). I think we are very lucky. :D

awh its so exciting for parents too i guess as they want to buy and buy. my mum is lovely like that. she always wants to buy stuff for my nieces, however they only wear expensive stuff so sometimes that stops her. i was saying i really dont care about buying from primark, Tescos etc as baby clothes are used up so quickly.
