A lot of the articles on the website are very much in the same few with our midwifes, so nice to read it all again and refresh the stuff we learnt in the antenatal classes.

We've had a name picked out since our 20 week scan, we had chatted about names for a few weeks before and as we walked out the scan knowing he was a boy we both looked at each other and said the name. His middle name is one from DHs family, first born males all have the same middle name.

Nappies - I'd recommend not getting too many size 1s to start with, esp if you're having a big baby, and use the vouchers for sizes you know for sure you'll need (e.g. 3 or 4). My LO weighed 8lbs 6oz and size 1 lasted for around 4 weeks, which at 8-10 nappies a day works out at... (insert number here, baby brain has taken over!). Shape of baby matters as well as weight - my LO's legs are quite chunky (in a cute and cuddly way of course!...) and that was the main reason we switched to size 2 - size 1s were starting to look too tight and uncomfortable around her thighs.

Edit: we also have waaay too many size 2 - think we'll be switching to size 3 at 10 weeks-ish....

thanks for everyones replies about my situation, me and my partner had a good chat last night and i'm concerned that if something did go wrong while he's being turned how would i feel so i'm opting for the c-section just incase, my partner thinks it may be happening for a reason because on my first son when i went in to labour i got pre-eclampsia and my blood pressure was sky high and wasnt coming down so they got me to push early so maybe me having this one a week early is actually a blessing.

does anyone know any techniques to calm me down though because i am actually terrified, couldnt eat anything last night and woke up almost being sick and still feeling ill now which im guessing is nerves, was crying last night to because i'm so afraid as i had never even considered having him via c-section so its a big shock. These last 3 weeks are going to be absolute hell just want to get it over with so i can actually enjoy him because my pregnancy has been soo horrible since the start so just want it over now and get my little man out

Although baby boy here is 5 months and still fits into 0-3 vests with a cloth bum! :eek:

I think I remember someone on here saying a while ago that they are over 6ft tall? Unless I dreamt that! Was wondering if whoever it is could give me some pointers on where to get long maternity trousers? Just casual ones, the only ones I have seen are on Long Tall Sally and they are business suit trousers. Im 6ft so really struggling to find anything. Can find Tall and can find Maternity but not both together IFKWIM. Thanks in advance

Vickynleon, iam really sorry for the way you are feeling, but meditation really helps to calm your nerves down. maybe you can try that? also there are cds you can get to help you relax. see if you find something online. apparently something called the rainbow track is very good. hugs. xx

Rebekah although its too early to know what position my baby will be in, I'm still worrying about the possibility of a c section. Feel a bit like you the body is kind of designed for this, but I'm not going to be a complete twit and refuse any intervention. I'm also aware of the possible extra complications for me as my body doesn't heal well anyway. I just want to be aware of potential pros and cons without googling it. We all know google is not our friend

Can't remember who just said about the size one nappies, but working on four weeks at 10 nappies is 280 nappies so hopefully I'll have enough in my stash and a few spare for mishaps.

I need to do some tidying so I think enough lazing about now!

Apparently I have underestimated how many Nappies babies need lol. Despite this being my second and I'm meant to know stuff I really don't. I have only got three small packs of size one lol. Might. Red to visit shops tomorrow lol.

Currently trying to get my house in order as oh started moving stuff in while i was visiting home. There is not enough space for me him
And my dd never mind once baby comes. I think we are going to have to move ideally in the next monh cos if I have a planned section that's probably gpnna be around 7th August so need settled before then. Still holding out hope that my other half will get a phone call this week saying yes we have a transfer u can move to Dorset next week. Not looking hopeful tho but I know as soon as we sign a new contract on a house here in wales, that phone call will come!

I wouldn't worry too much about nappies, most corner shops sell them if it's really urgent and loads of people pop round so easy to ask them to bring some. Having too many can be a nightmare if you lose receipts etc. x

re names - we had a name for a boy picked out even before we knew it was going to be a boy. We were planning to call him after his grandfathers. In the last few weeks however we began swaying towards another set of names but now I feel guilty about not wanting to name him after grandfathers. I know it's probably silly of me to feel guilty but I also know how much my dad would be pleased if the LO was named after him. But then we both like the other names better now. We haven't told the names to anyone though as it's our decision and everyone else will find out once he's born. I think we'll see what the baby looks like and then he will either get one or the other set of names.

re nappies - we have Pampers size 1 (163) and size 2 (27) which we got on sale 1/3 off. No Huggies as ASDA voucher wouldn't print and then I found lots of comments on the internet that Huggies are no use for boys. A colleague at work who also has a little boy said Huggies were leaking so decided not to complain to ASDA about voucher not printing.

Yesterday I was browsing the net reading about vitamin K injections etc and came across this website with loads of interesting articles and even more interesting comments below.
Here's one of the articles I found interesting but there are loads more (i.e. about benefits of delayed cord clamping) and I stayed up late because I couldn't stop reading.
