Jannine personally, I prefer individual items on ebay. I think RJH is right though about listing things like vest tops together, but anything else I would like to buy separately. When I have looked at bundles of clothes on ebay (maternity and 'normal') there has only ever been one thing that I wanted out of it all and it puts me off bidding as a result!
Vicky hope LO turns for you, but try not to worry if you can. I know it's easy to say, but there's still time for things to happen naturally for you.
RJH we've chosen a name for our LO if baby is a boy; we have two names in mind and I want them both as a first and middle name. OH is not convinced about middle names at all (he doesn;t have one) but I am adamant that baby should have one! It's about the only thing that I don't want to compromise on! The first name isn't all that unusual but it isn't common either and def not in the popular lists. The second name is v. different and doesn't seem to appear anywhere but it has a special meaning to us. As for girls names, we chose a few names very early on but have yet to make a final decision. We thought baby was a girl when we first found out we were expecting, but at the 12 week scan we became convinced we were having a boy! Our thinking on everything has been leaning that way ever since! We haven't told family what names we have chosen cos the first name (if it's a boy) is actually my Dad's name and we want it to be a surprise. I have also said to my OH that regardless of whether LO's a girl or boy I want my Dad to be the first one (after me and OH!) to hold baby too.0 -
Morning all,
Well looks like I'm not working today (relieved in a way as I'm quite tired this morning - apparently I wasn't snoring last night, but I was whistling cos my nose was blocked, and I woke up with a headache). I've got my glucose load test tomorrow, so need to make sure I don't eat after 9pm tonight (not that I have been anyway, but just in case the box of lindor truffles calls my name).
Family and I all went out for my Birthday dinner last night at the Slug and Lettuce (50% off food on a Monday, and we booked a table for 7pm). We didn't end up getting our food until gone 8pm, and they'd run out of loads of dishes. Then my Dad's and Moon's burgers were served cold so they had to wait for them to be recooked (I'd finished my falafel burger by then) and they'd run out of onion rings to go with their burgers; then they'd run out of 2 out of the small selection of desserts and I had paper stuck to the bottom of the one I chose. Ended up with the 2 burgers and my dessert removed from the bill, but it wasn't a good way of convincing MIL's partner to go there as it's cheap! My Dad has filled out the feedback form, so hopefully something will be done. On a plus note, I got 2 lovely cards, and £60 of Champney's vouchers from my sister and Mum as well as £20 to spend on something else.
Got our course confirmation through from the NCT today and our first session is next Tuesday evening - getting quite excited about it.
Gemma funerals have a funny habit of bringing up unsettled family rifts - it was the same when my grandfather died. I would stick to your guns and wear the makeup and support your grandfather, and hopefully your Mum will calm down a bit once it's all over.
twinklie I hope you're feeling better today after your asthma attack yesterday. Try to take it easy today.
Good luck to anyone who is past their due dates, and hugs for anyone who wants them.

I think the potential for something to go wrong is just so much higher. Have you seen the little model of the baby and the pelvis? It shows you much better than explaining what happens if the baby is back to back and also if it's breech. Some people can deliver breech easily, others would probably get the baby in distress and can you imagine if the head got stuck after the body had come out and then you needed an emergency caesar? how would they get the arms and legs back in to pull them out??
No I haven't seen this model! My classes start this month though so will get to learn more about birth etc. when you say it like that it makes sense. Still got morning brain here lol. I guess I'm just really worried that any excuse for a c section these drs are gonna be all over me like a rash. And I have size four feet so apparently small hips which don't look that small. Still got 10 weeks to worry about that yetthanks Savage!

Wow all those nappies! I have one pack of huggies that I got last time I was pregnant!
I do plan on getting a couple of packs but not many. We only live less than a mile from Tesco so when we run out I can send DH down for some. I've heard from a lot of the ladies who have already had their babies that different brands suit different babies. Huggies apparently tend not to fit boys as well as girls but that isn't always the case. I plan on getting a couple of packs of pampas and then see what suits us best.
Been playing with my new sewing machine and having lots of fun! I haven't touched a sewing machine since school and even then the teacher did most of it for you! So I'm teaching myself which is fun. I made a mini taggie blanket yesterday so see if I could get the technique right, it worked out ok so I may try a bigger one today then move on to making the minky one I want to make for baby
I'm 30 weeks today and it really feels like it's going fast now
((hugs)) to everyone who needs them and labour vibes to the boldies.

Missmonkeymoo, my DH is the same, he doesn't have a middle name so doesn;t see the point but I am adament baby is having one, especially as we have such a common surname. We have a couple of names on our list and will wait until after baby is born to pick which one suits him. We will be picking out seperate middle names though as we might want to use one of the alternatives if we ever have another boy. Also it's a good opportunity to use some of the other names we like but that I wouldn't want as a first name because they are too popular.

This may be me being me again, but why do drs opt straight for major surgery for breech when for many centuries women have been giving birth to breech babies for years? I mean they're in a hospital, I'd understand being more cautious at home. I think I'd rather give birth to a breech than opt for major surgery.
A lot depends on the position of the baby. There are three types of breech presentation - a full breech where the legs go straight up, an inbetweeny one where the baby looks like it's sitting cross-legged and a footling breech where one foot is hanging down.
To dilate the cervix effectively you need something pushing on it. Ideally this would be the head, but a nicely presented round bottom will do it too. In the first example above, it's often possible to push your baby out because the bottom's acting like a head. In the second two examples, particularly the last, the cervix won't dilate effectively and a section is usually indicated.
Sure, women have still been delivering breech babies for centuries without surgery, but at what cost? Some of them will have died, some of the babies will certainly have died, and even when both mother and baby survive the birth, you can bet mum's got a trashed lovetunnel from pushing through an undilated cervix. Ouch"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
other risk factors with breech birth -
possible cord prolapse (as the head is rather ideal for plugging the birth canal nicely)
risk of birth before full dilation has occurred, possibly resulting in a situation where the body is partially birthed and the head not able to.0 -
Has anyone seen/tried these? http://http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003O8LOOQ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&m=A1MK87RFC3UYDH. The look like they'd be useful for someone like me who has got a bit carried away when buying newborn vests, I did a count the other day and I have about a thousand :rotfl:0
