it was worth every moment. mum and baby are fine, baby is trying to feed still, no luck yet. trying skin to skin without anything...
apologies for queue jumping!
Ah congratulations WW2BR! And to your brave mrs tooI'll let you off for stealing my due date...!
I must admit I wasn't expecting to hear baby news from you overnight, did things suddenly kick off from a slow start?
I'm sure the feeding will happen soon if it hasn't already, sometimes it just takes a little while. I guess birth is quite traumatic for baby as well as parents, he's prob still recovering!
Congrats again!

Hooray for lie ins! I will get mine on Sunday. Still will have to go to work but don't start til 12. I have decided this weekend will be my last weekend working. Since 31 weeks the tiredness has hit me like a brick wall.
Only 3 weeks and 5 days til mat leave starts. We still haven't recruited a replacement though. 1st interviews are on Tuesday. I hope one of them are right for it. I need to start winding down.
Hope all have a good day xxxxx0 -
Just got home from work, and back has been killing me since yesterday - hardly slept, and it still hurts.
Spoke to midwife about it last week and she said it's too early to refer me to a physio, but I'm hoping by my 28 week appointment that I'll be far enough along for them to do something.
sexymouse xx
sexymouse - I was told by both my midwife and GP that the physio department at my hospital would not see me before 28 weeks, even though I was in agony with pelvic pain. I practically begged the GP for a referral and she flatly refused saying even if she wrote to them recommending that I be seen early they wouldn't due to "hospital policy". A few weeks later I saw a stand in midwife for a routine appointment who told me this was a load of rubbish and the earlier I was referred the better! She referred me, I phoned the hospital and they booked me straight in. When I got there and spoke to the physiotherapist about it she was disgusted with my GP and said to me "tell your GP that I see ladies from 0 weeks!". I'm going to write to my GP's practice and let them know this as I feel quite let down by them. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is it might be worth you phoning your hospital's physio deparment direct to double check what their policy is rather than just take the midwife's word for it.0
