Can I join the potential queue-jumpers association?

We just had our growth scan, the midwife and consultant seemed concerned, not too happy, and we are now no longer under midwife-led care...

We're going back on Tuesday for another ultrasound, to see if the levels of amniotic fluid increase - if they don't, we could well be staring at an induction of c-section towards the end of next week...

Treble eek because our bathroom is still a mess, has half tiled walls and no grout or sink. Better get the in-laws to speed up a notch...

Labour vibes to everyone who wants them, except for my DW, we're so not ready yet!!!! :)

Big ((hugs)) I'm sure things will be fine and if you guys do have to have an induction c-section it isn't the end of the world.

Some babies don't engage until contractions are well under way.

MrsManda, how about squatting down, getting your hand on his arse and pushing him down into your pelvis whilst making 'going for poo-poo' noises. This is a tried and tested method of encouraging a baby's head to engage and has been incorporated into the active birth methodology. *

    * It hasn't. Most of what I post is nonsense.

    afternoon ladies :)
Wasn't online much yesterday, we spent all day building our new wardrobe and drawers. Took much longer than anticipated as once we'd built the frame we realised that we didn't have the hinges for the doors (separate part that we didn't know we needed :o) so DH had to head back to Milton Keynes to buy them! Our bedroom is nearly finished though, just need to move the bookshelf from Beanie's room into ours today and it will be done. All our clothes etc are put away, and the new furniture looks really nice. The wardrobe is HUGE though, it's from the Pax system at Ikea, and when we looked at the same size in the shop it didn't look anywhere near as big. Not sure it will come out of our bedroom when we move, may have to sell it to the landlord!

Today we've been to the tip twice with the old furniture, a few things that have been waiting to go for ages and all the packaging from the flat packs, and been to Boots to collect our car seat and base, very exciting!

Next step is rearranging the sitting room shelves to make some toy storage space, and also to move the wine racks to the top to keep them away from inquisitive little people! Hoping to get that done later today as well so I can spend tomorrow cleaning and baking in readiness for the party. Was supposed to be going for lunch with my sister and little niece (4 months) tomorrow, but niece has chicken pox so we've cancelled. :( I had it when I was 5/6, but no point in risking anything, and she's really grumpy with it too, so would be stressful for sister. Will rearrange for a few weeks time. In the mean time I'm sending my list of baby stuff over to see what they have to hand on :)

We've got a load of friends coming on Saturday for DH's birthday though and I'll need to find somewhere to put all the baby stuff so we can unfold the sofa bed in Beanie's room for them. May have to clutter up our lovely decluttered bedroom for the night! DH has been to dentists today though, and he's having root canal treatment tomorrow, hoping he won't be in too much pain for the party on Saturday. Anyone had it?

Quick question peeps.... Has anyone got a maxi cosi easy base 2 ??
I got one second hand off eBay which we collected last night... The leg part doesn't 'click' into the vertical position...it's loose and swings back and forwards...I'd have thought it would lock into position... The height adjuster on the leg works and locks with a click bit not the leg itself.
We've no instructions and the video on YouTube isn't very clear.
Just thought id better ask before I assume it's faulty
    Thanks in advance

The family fix base from maxi-cosi is just the same, i.e. the leg doesn't click into position. I guess this is because seats can be at different angles so there needs to be some flexibility in the angle of the leg bit. The leg bit needs to be nearly vertical but that might not be at 90 degrees to the actual base IYSWIM because the back seat of the actual car can slope backwards quite a bit. Provided it is firmly on the floor of the seat well and the lights are green (do you have the lights with the easy base?) then it's properly fitted.

    Puts dental hat on

Don't listen to the many pants people who say root canal is soooooo painful blah blah blah.

It shouldn't be and if it is your dentist sucks lol.

He will have a fresh filling in which may feel a bit uncomfortable to the ooposit tooth ( if this coninues more than a few days it might need adjusted so go back) but essentially if done right the tooth should no longer have any neves therefore no pain. His gum might be a bit tender around the filling too. Any pain is likely o come from a sore jaw from staying open too long :) tell him now he knows how it feels :p

Agreed. That's what anaesthetic's for, fgs. Plus, like you say, root canal is about removing the root so there shouldn't be anything to hurt afterwards!

If you're after dental pain, try having the little spacers fitted (I think they just use the tiny elastic bands) between your back teeth in preparation for having a brace fitted. Man alive, a few hours later, you really know about it! Face ache or what.

Feeling a bit cheesed off. I've been getting heart palpatations off and on since Saturday. The last 24 hours they've become much more frequent and I've had 2 nose bleeds. So thought I'd better ring the midwife just to be safe.

Anyway, called 5 numbers on my green notes - no answer. The 6th number got an answer but was transferred to a midwife (don't know who I actually called). She said I need to go into the clinic tomorrow to be checked. She transferred me to the clinic, who wanted to know who I'd spoken too. I said I had no idea, I don't even know what department I'm speaking to now. The woman obviously thought I was about to burst into tears because she then became VERY nice to me. lol. I'm booked in at 10.45am (at the hospital clinic).

I'm trying to figure out if this will count as my 28 week appointment or if I'll still have that one next Friday (I'm 26+3 today). Thats the one I'm meant to see a consultant to see if I am being discharged from the hospital and carrying on as low risk or not. I wanted DH there for that discussion, but he can't make it for tomorrow. I just feel like I could cry. My mum is coming with me tomorrow but she is a chocolate teapot. :(
