sexymouse, have you looked at ikea? Some of their slightly more expensive ranges are really good quality. We've got Leksvik(?) drawers and bedside tables and haven't had any problems with the bottoms bowing despite being jam-packed! (although they are fibreboard I think).
I personally like the Hemnes, Vallvik (v similar to Leksvik) and Aspelund ranges

We actually have the nursery wardobes from the Leksvik range in our own bedroom as our wardrobes.
If anyone wants a laugh - go and Youtube up "NCT Dara OBriain" - I've just woken the baby up howling with laughter.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
Aaaahh, congrats Jovi and Nora!
Having a mare of a day, OH and I aren't really talking (again) all over stupid stuff (again) and my left eye won't stop streaming so I can't put my contact lenses in! I've got to go and teach zumba tonight as well, so i am hoping it calms down before then!
LO has not been kicking much today, or maybe I just haven't noticed it as much? Will see if I can take bump picture later and post it on here tomorrow, although I have to confess that I always tell OH he can't have a bump picture when he asks (I still struggle with the whole body change thing).
Sounds daft, but I can't believe I am nearly into the forties on the list! I hovered around 57 for so long I just thought that was always going to be my number! It's starting to dawn on me that I have 14 weeks left........ Next midwife appt next Tuesday and then off for my GTT the following Monday. I'm hopinh to work all the way up to the end of August but the way I have been feeling lately, I'm not sure if i am going to make it! Have also now resorted to only wearing leggings cos my maternity jeans are all just a fraction tight (fine when I'm standing up but cut in when I sit down!) and really don't want to have to go out and buy any more! I guess I will have to get a couple of extra things though, I only have about ten things I can fit into now! I wish the weather was a bit better so I could just stick maxi dresses on - that would be the easiest thing!
Hope everyone is ok - hugs to all who need them! x0 -
9th on the list. Oh boy.Any suggestions on how to get over the moses basket conundrum gratefully accepted! She falls asleep in my arms in no time, when I put her down in the moses basket, she starts whimpering after about 3 minutes.
OMG. Congratulations on getting through that labour:eek::j
Have you tried putting one of your tops or some other item of your clothing into the moses basket with her or just before you put her in it?She might need reassurance you are nearby and your scent may be all it takes.
I've christened our carrycot with a few worn tops already - sounds like I've turned it into a dirty washing basket but it is just one top in there...honest:o
AFM, I finally got a MW appointment tonight at the hospital clinic. If "favourable"...I'm being swept.;) but I'm still a week early so not holding my breath.
Loved the bump pic, BB:p
Hang on in there, Triangle.
Congrats Jovi and Turtle:beer:
No paper knickers here either - black cottonjelly belly warmers all the way:cool:0 -
Thanks for the comments about engaging, you made me laugh
BB I do have a gym ball which I'm sitting on while typing this. I guess I shouldn't moan too much as at least he's cephalic.
The bump has dropped a little - I have a belly button looking a vaguely normal shape for the first time in months but as you said BB, there's no bowling ball feeling.
My midwife seems to think that for a first baby he ought to engage before labour and that it should be obvious when he drops so I'm presuming it's going to be awhile.
It's a shame as my OH would love for him to turn up today or tomorrow but if he doesn't then we don't want him to turn up until Wednesday
Fluff, I'm afraid to say that apart from making going for a poo-poo noises I have done exactly what you describedEvery so often he gets poked in a downwards motion with my OH or myself telling him to get a move on
rjh congratulations for finishing your exams. It must be a relief that they're over now.0 -
Can I join the potential queue-jumpers association?
We just had our growth scan, the midwife and consultant seemed concerned, not too happy, and we are now no longer under midwife-led care...
We're going back on Tuesday for another ultrasound, to see if the levels of amniotic fluid increase - if they don't, we could well be staring at an induction of c-section towards the end of next week...
Treble eek because our bathroom is still a mess, has half tiled walls and no grout or sink. Better get the in-laws to speed up a notch...
Labour vibes to everyone who wants them, except for my DW, we're so not ready yet!!!!Having fun trying to save money without going over the top and living on budget food all the time...0 -
Blood pressure is back into an accpetable range :j Baby must have listened to BB's stern finger wagging for queue jumping!
Midwife noted a trace of protein in urine but isn't overly concerned as BP is OK. So all being well yesterday was just a blip and tomorrow at the hospital will be fine too - thanks for good wishes
Regarding knickers: I don't have a lot of dignity (nor standards come to that) but I just can not face the thought of squeezing my huge !!! into paper knickers which will no doubt break into pieces at the mere thought of it!Hence a pack of primark's finest cheapo granny pants safely packed in my hospital bag!
Hoping baby engages soon for you MrsManda - what about trying to eat a whole pineapple?MFW!

Quick question peeps.... Has anyone got a maxi cosi easy base 2 ??
I got one second hand off eBay which we collected last night... The leg part doesn't 'click' into the vertical position...it's loose and swings back and forwards...I'd have thought it would lock into position... The height adjuster on the leg works and locks with a click bit not the leg itself.
We've no instructions and the video on YouTube isn't very clear.
Just thought id better ask before I assume it's faulty
Thanks in advance0 -
Oooh, whowants2rich! Hope your wife is bearing up OK, at least you are being well mointored. You best get cracking on with those jobs! Wishing you both all the best, sounds like plenty of rest is requried, take care xxMFW!

Just had a look, they are not papery but kind gauze like IYSWIM but I bought the 14-16 and they are a bit small  but that's probably my huge ever expanding @ss that's to blame!
