Lol I played the oboe too. Had to give it up tho couldn't take the pain with the braces.

Oh so he is only having first stage tomorrow. Depending on how much they do he might feel a bit tender when local anaesthetic wears off then. An anti inflammatory pain killer is best but if e can't take then paracetamol is fine. He will find it a relief as they will release the pressure but if hey don't take all the nerve he might be a bit painful :)

wuss! ;) The braces weren't too bad if you faffed about with the stupid red wax for covering them up, but I could never be bothered, just played through the pain. I did have to relearn the correct embouchure after they came off though, after 4 years of playing with them on!

DH is fine with ibuprofen, so will pop out and stock up tomorrow, cheers :)

Thanks Fluff. I'm not bothered about the palps, its the other stuff I'm bothered about. I don't want them to put all the appointments together in one - I want my DH there for the growth stuff (this is why I've been under the hospital).

It's stupid really, but I can't help it. lol.

When I had my wisdom teeth out, I went straight down the pub afterwards and got pssed and smoked loads of fags. As a result I ended up with dry sockets and an infection in the jawbone. Now that hurts.

When they say 'don't drink or smoke - it will affect your healing' they mean it. :D

I'm sure it won't count as a routine appt. It's not after all. You should still have your 28 week one. Is it booked yet?
