Twinklie,
Unless they say anything treat it as an additional appointment.
Don't panic they will just want to check you out mainly your bp and make sure all is well. Try and treat your mum as a distraction rather than a help. Get her on a subject to keep you company - if she is anything like mine she probably has lots of gossip to tell you.Overdraft = £1000 Emergency fund = £2500

Thanks Kitten. My mum is NOT talkative at all. It would be me leading the discussion all the way - I'm taking my Kindle. I'm not freaked out about going in, just about my husband missing the appointment next week (if that makes any sense at all). Fingers crossed they still want to see me on the 15th then.
Oh and not to be completely self absorbed. Congrats Teerah. xReduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Feeling a bit cheesed off. I've been getting heart palpatations off and on since Saturday. The last 24 hours they've become much more frequent and I've had 2 nose bleeds. So thought I'd better ring the midwife just to be safe.
Anyway, called 5 numbers on my green notes - no answer. The 6th number got an answer but was transferred to a midwife (don't know who I actually called). She said I need to go into the clinic tomorrow to be checked. She transferred me to the clinic, who wanted to know who I'd spoken too. I said I had no idea, I don't even know what department I'm speaking to now. The woman obviously thought I was about to burst into tears because she then became VERY nice to me. lol. I'm booked in at 10.45am (at the hospital clinic).
I'm trying to figure out if this will count as my 28 week appointment or if I'll still have that one next Friday (I'm 26+3 today). Thats the one I'm meant to see a consultant to see if I am being discharged from the hospital and carrying on as low risk or not. I wanted DH there for that discussion, but he can't make it for tomorrow. I just feel like I could cry. My mum is coming with me tomorrow but she is a chocolate teapot.
It's great that you're getting checked out, but try not to worry about the palpitations, lovey. These are really common in pregnancy and they peak around 28 - 32 weeks so you're bang on schedule for starting to get them. I got them, plus horrible breathlessness, around the same time as you. I feel much better now (at 37 weeks)
You need your BP checked though because of the nosebleeds, but your vascular system really goes into overdrive with all the extra blood and it might just be that the veins in your nose are a little more fragile than most people's and are bleeding as a result. Again the stage you're at is the time when you really start increasing that blood supply.
They'll look after you and put your mind at rest tomorrow, but in the meantime just try to take it easy and not worry too much (easier said than done I know!).
For the palpitations, concentrate on doing some belly breathing - slow deep breath in really expanding the tum, hold it for a few seconds, long breath out through your mouth. If you need to lie down, lie on your left (NOT your back)."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

Puts dental hat on
Don't listen to the many pants people who say root canal is soooooo painful blah blah blah.
It shouldn't be and if it is your dentist sucks lol.
He will have a fresh filling in which may feel a bit uncomfortable to the ooposit tooth ( if this coninues more than a few days it might need adjusted so go back) but essentially if done right the tooth should no longer have any neves therefore no pain. His gum might be a bit tender around the filling too. Any pain is likely o come from a sore jaw from staying open too longtell him now he knows how it feels
fluffnutter wrote: »Agreed. That's what anaesthetic's for, fgs. Plus, like you say, root canal is about removing the root so there shouldn't be anything to hurt afterwards!
If you're after dental pain, try having the little spacers fitted (I think they just use the tiny elastic bands) between your back teeth in preparation for having a brace fitted. Man alive, a few hours later, you really know about it! Face ache or what.
Thanks ladiesThe root is infected and has been waking him up at night with pain for a couple of weeks so it will probably be a relief! First treatment tomorrow, and then follow up in a couple of weeks. DH isn't too worried, but I know my sister had a root canal treatment a few years ago and was in absolute agony. That was the same dentist who tried to drill my tooth when it wan't numb and put me off going to the dentist for 4 years though!
Fluffnutter, I had fixed braces for 4 years as my teeth were like a horror film (large teeth from Mum's side of family plus small jaw from Dad's side meant they grew in like a concertina!) I agree the pain from adjustments was horrendous, plus I played the oboe, and now have scars all the way around the inside of my mouth from the tracks digging in!

When I had my brace, I missed one of my tightening appointments so by the time I went I'd not seen my orthodontist for 12 weeks. He really screwed those babies tight and all I could do for about 3 days was suck yoghurt and cry."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0
