Finally, an embarrassing question, but can anyone advise me what I can do about -TMI- constipation and piles?
Urgh the joys! Yea for my constipation I have brown bread instead of white - eat lots salad and veg - something like brown rice or potatoes with skins on and for cereal I try weetabix before bed always has me going well the next day! My piles arn't that bad they are inside not out so I just ignore them. When i'm eating healthily they go down by themselves. And as uncomfy as it is do not push a poo and strain mega hard. Do a small push and if it doesn't come within a minute or 2 leave it be. Other to that drink lots of water to make poo soft and don't ignore the I need to poo urge and leave it til later as that will make it worse.

What is quidco? Seen a few people posting about it and getting money off stuff but I'm clueless? I'm up for anything to save the pennies! :money:

Over the course of about 6 years I've had about £800 back from quidco so it can be quite good. Its basically a cashback site whereby you go through them and they forward you on so to speak to the website you would of been using. For example I usually use them for my RAC or AA and pay about £9 a year for my roadside as quidco give you up to £25 cashback. There is also topcashback (I use both of them and have managed to get about £111 over a year from them). I got £12 back from topcashback last night for my nursing chair from boots so effectively I paid £96 (cashback, 10% off and boots points).

It just occurred to me, I haven't seen a midwife since I was 16 weeks, when she just took a urine sample and fobbed me off- I was there less than 5 mins.
I'm now 24+3, when am I supposed to see somebody again? I gather it's up to me to make the appointments, I just don't want to go and be made to feel like I'm wasting their time!

  • Glad it went well RJH enjoy your well deserved nap :)
    Welcome CL and congrats.
I too have become intriged with reusable nappies, but this morning have counted all the nappies, bubble bath, baby wipes etc and I have precisely 1096 nappies :rotfl: so I think I need to use them!
Kitten big hugs, sounds like a rough few days for you both. I'm sure once ladyboyd is here you'll be able to really relax and enjoy her.
Rebekah if your naughty girl is still breach, I will be a kind friend and invite you to do some painting here ;) I saw your album of the nursery yday, but I was being wooed by the piccy of that yummy looking cake!
Savage glad your appt went ok, I know what you mean some are quite mundane and very quick.
Sounds like lots of people have got lots of bargains over the weekend. We've got pretty much everything I think we need. My mum is buying odd bits. Bubba now has his own yellow ducks for the bath lol. She got him a lovely play gym from M&P bedtime bear one, was £50 down to £25. Do people really pay that much full price? It fits in well with the "I love my bear" range that we've got some of already. Also got a nappy stacker -not sure how useful they are, but in Dunelm Mill which had 20% off and again is similar to the main bear theme :)
So much tidying and Decluttering this morning, am shattered now. Tempted to go for a nap, mother isnt a fan of napping. Mad woman, weren't afternoons designed for napping and tea?

Anyways hugs to all that need them xx

25 weeks hun, just check in your maternity notes that the midwife hasn't made the appointment for you as mine did and wrote it in. My 16 weeks appointment was crap too. x

I was at the hospital for my 16 week appointment to be told about my test results that came back poo. Anyway, it was a good one for me, very detailed. My 25 week one was the poo one. In and out, the only exciting thing was listening to bubs heartbeat again - was well clear this time.

I'm back at the hospital for 28 weeks so expect that one to be a good one. I see a weelady, midwife and consultant. I know they'll measure me from that point onwards as well - very exciting. Cannot wait - sounds daft that doesn't it? But as my issues surround growth I want them to see how fat my belly is. I'm growing damn it I'm growing!!

Are you on consultant led care only then now hun? Have they mentioned growth scans to you at all? I've got my next scan on the 11th July :)

I can't moan about my 16 week appointment really as it was my booking in appointment and I was 17 weeks, I've been very lucky in that the consultant let me hear the babies heart beat at 19 weeks and then I heard him 4 times a day whilst I was in hospital the other week where the staff were really lovely and talked to me about all sorts. Got consultant again on Monday to see whether they think I've shown an improvement since being admitted the other week, then the 20th I've got my 25 week appointment with the midwife then the week after I have a meeting with work about maternity/sickness/holidays etc and then the same week my 2nd GTT, this is a quiet month for me lol x
