Don't feel too guilty we only got to that stage this weekend when the baby could have been due in a WEEK! - I still have a mountain of clothes washing to do and the living room seemed to get untidyed as we tidied the bathroom and bedroom!
LOL  The room has a wardrobe - a empty desk (to go out) - and a single bed full of everything. Need to take it all out - paint - fit the curtains - order the carpet the lot lol.

Anyone else got a naughty breech baby? 33 weeks and still not going head down ... i'm terrified of that section threat ...

Frustrated.com. Trying to exam mark because I'm behind with being away for the weekend. My mum has stopped by with socks for the little man and so I don't feel I can tell her to get lost. I can't mark with her here. I'm slowly going mad!!

Anyone know any such online calculators, would do it the old fashioned way but the dates are tight and Im scared of making a mistake !

Hi all, not had a chance to read back as after startng contracting at 8pm Sunday, by midnight they were less than 2mins apart. Got to the delivery suite at half midnight (so Monday by this point), they blew me off as a dramatic first timer, until they realised i really couldn't walk and I was actually contracting every 90 secs!

Got examined at 1am and was 4cm, walked to delivery (other end of corridor) and waters broke on the way! had gas and air and my contractions didn't actually stop at all - they weren't finishing tailing off befor the build up again. I managed two hours of this on gas and air, and got frightened because it was all happening so fast, and first babies are meant to take ages right ;)

So at 3am I asked for more pain relief and after running through some options, went for a mobile epidural. This was brilliant for me, I could still feel the contractions, and on some of the hard ones I still used the gas and air. I decided to top up once, and had no painat all but could still feel all the contractions.

I was on a ctg because of my persistent weird high BP and protein/no protein/oh wait yes there is protein etc. Midwife wasn't happy with the ctg at 5 am (6cm dilated) but couldn't put her finger on why it seemed odd. Shortly, shift change came and during handover she expressed her concerns about it, new midwife agreed so they got a doctor in. They all were a bit hmmmmm about it and discussed lots of its and buts, meanwhile I'm still contracting constantly (but bearable because of the epidural).

They decided to check baby's oxygen levels to be on the safe side, and that's when it became all systems go. Oxygen was dropping so I got rushed in for an emergency section. At 9:28 on Monday 4th June, Reuben Michael made his appearance at bang on 8lbs.

We've had a rollercoaster ride and the last two days feel about a month long with all the following medical stuff that has happened. Reuben and i both have a bad infection, suspected from the placenta, the doc who rushed me in for the section came and spoke to me last night and said if they had waited even half an hour the outcome would have been "considerably" less favourable. Bit upsetting!! But we're both here, and he is gorgeous, we both have to stay in for a week for antibiotics because of the infection, but we were lucky and have our own room, and Daddy is allowed on the ward 11am to 9pm every day so we get lots of time together.

I'm very sore and tired so won't be back for a few days at least, hope everyone has been well, and I'd just like to finish with saying the mummy club is so the best :D xx

Congrats and glad all is now on its way to being okay x

  • thanks for the reply - no this wasn't the one, the one I am thinking of listed
    tell employer by..
earliest date you can take leave ..
All the other sites just do the usual talk of 11 weeks before, but there is some funny rule about maternity leave starts on a saturday or sunday and I think I can technically take my leave 11 weeks and 5 days before i'm due on a Saturday.
Just wanting to make sure as I think my notification needs to be in this week and lets just say the timing isn't great - next week would be better !!

    Hi all,

Took me ages to read through all of the weekends posts!!!

Griggsy – I know this is a late reply but I am having my cot & crib bedding made up by a lady called ‘She’s Sew Unique’ because I didn’t want beige, grey, baby pink or baby blue and wanted nice bright primary colours J

Jedi – I don’t think we will be given/bought too much – I have a big family but I’m a only child so its extended family who have their closest to worry about & my friends seem to have abandoned me since finding out our news… only our joint friends are likely to give us anything and even then I think it will only be two couples!

Fluffnutter – Your posts always make me crack up!

Kitten_Pie – Hugs for the silly toys R Us lady and the refund situation! I think I would have cried from frustration without having been through what you have in the past. I like SM’s idea that you are not meant to have it because you are meant to get a better deal J

AFM – OH said last night whilst stroking my little bump ‘oh baby will you hurry up please’ lol I think he is frustrated waiting… waiting to know the sex, waiting to feel it move, waiting to be a daddy! Lol just thought I would share because I thought it was quite cute!

Congrats to those who have given birth & fingers crossed for those overdue!!!

    xx
