Congratulations Jovi, I hope you both get to go home soon.

No news from me yet I'm afraid - I've got midwife on Thursday when she's going to do a sweep - apparently it's a lot more effective on your second so should get things going within a couple of days. I'm hoping anyway!

Meant to say - thanks for the shopping suggestions earlier! Have packed DH off to the supermarket with a long list!

This afternoon I have been through the 2 freezers, and made an inventory for each (don't judge me!) :o Found some very dubious things in there...! Managed to organise them a bit, anyway, to make some space.

Hope DH comes home with something tasty for tea, I haven't had the energy to make anything. Keep meaning to make a lasagne, the leftovers of which I plan to freeze. I love lasagne, but it's such a faff to make, with loads of washing up to do afterwards...!

Right, as I'm on the computer, I'm going to take a photo of my baby's room and see if I can post on here...

Cheers Kitten, I'm not gonna stress about it, but think I should probably check with the midwife anyway - just with the heart palps and everything. Yawn.

    Congrats Jovi!

The Little Lambs deal posted earlier looks good, especially if you couple it with this one
    http://www.littlelambnappies.com/special-offers/bn1-labelfb110-bamboo-nappies
You'd need to buy more wraps and some boosters though. Will need to discuss this with DH and maybe we'll go for this too. However, a word of warning - the Nappy Lady says bamboo nappies take ages to dry. I think she mentioned 24hrs in one of her videos  She also said Motherease wraps are best and can be used with LL nappies too.

We had our reassurance scan today after the LO was lazy on Sunday and stopped kicking. We're 34w6d and he's already 6lb (2.7kg)! The baby is head down (and has been for weeks) but it's back is on my left side and hands and legs on the right side. We saw the tiny hands and feet on the scan and it was cute :j

Can anyone advise me re holdalls / hospital bags? I was thinking of ordering this:
    http://direct.asda.com/IT-Holdall---Red/001700176,default,pd.html
but not sure if they are the right size. They do red and black so would buy both, one for labour and one for after. Does anyone have one of these? I don't have a holdall and wouldn't like to go to hospital with a suitcase!

Re constipation: I haven't really suffered with it so I think my methods must be working. I recommend that you make your own cereals mixture (oats, bran, rye flakes, cut up dried prunes, linseed + anything else you fancy). I normally pour hot water over them to soften them (rye flakes can be a bit hard) and top up with yoghurt after 10mins. I also recommend green beans and lentils instead of potatoes/rice etc. And avoid bananas.

Labour vibes to those who need them!

Silly moo, last time I used my overnight suitcase for a hospital bag and will do again this time.

It seemed pointless purchasing another bag when we could already use one we had. My suitcase also has wheels so was really easy to move around. I took their nappy bag with clothes etc in.

Ditto kitten. I used nappy bag for baby things and a rucksack for
Mine :) and a wee track bag for goodies none of which I ate or looked at. Never occurred to me labour would be too distracting to watch DVDs or read a book lol
love you lots like jelly tots :o

Ok, haven't done this before so I hope this works:

    Here's the nursery:

Another one (it's quite a small room as you can see!):

    And a gratuitous bump photo!

That's really good Gilly - I think they have a habit of putting the prices up where I live as they see it as a place where there are lots of people with money. I know that when I was at uni, Weatherspoons was literally a third of the price compared to the one where I live. It really annoys me that prices can vary so much.

Thats so annoying isnt it! The wetherspoons here is expensive compared to home actually.

  • Well, latest news from us is that we're at number 22 on the list. Please stop having your babies, it's getting far too close for us!!!

Ok, seriously, we're 36+2 and at our midwife appointment on Monday (yes bank holiday Monday), the midwife said that the bump is a bit small (measured 33cm). We are off for a growth scan tomorrow morning to see what's going on, if all is ok, and to see what might need to be done (if anything). Hope it wasn't the iron supplements (and reaction to them) that played havoc with baby growth, but only one way to find out.

Hope all is ok with everyone - if I look out of the window to the left, dark grey clouds, and to the right there is a clear blue sky... maybe the weather is getting brighter, and the rain will stop soon...

Having fun trying to save money without going over the top and living on budget food all the time...
