I've heard the angelcare system is meant to be good rj, but I know that a few places have discontinued it - think you can still get it on amazon etc though, and although they've discontinued the bin part, boots still do the cassettes that fit it. ETA: They have it half price at Boots online today so you could get your extra advantage points - it must just be instore that they've discontinued it as the lady in our local branch said it was discontinued.

Best of luck for your exam tomorrow - will be thinking of you.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Re. cats, I'm not sure if it's my being too relaxed, or perhaps I just have a particularly stupid cat, but I'm not really expecting him to notice too much. I anticipate his sniffing the baby once it comes home then ignoring it, tbh.

Out of interest, why are people concerned about the cat still sleeping in their rooms? Is it because they might try to get in the cot? If so, you can get cat nets for prams, moses baskets and cots. We're getting one for the cot so that the baby can nap without my worrying about having to keep the door shut (the cat's always shut in the kitchen at night anyway).

Remember as well, that pets are good for babies! Good for their immune systems :)

slept really well last night from 11pm through till 5am and then dosing till 8am.

Mother in law and great granny came to look at the nursey yesterday and they love it. its not got any particular theme - walls are white but there is plenty of colour with a rainbow wallstickers some bits of art and a bright red rocking chair as well as a hang up brocolli organiser from IKEA :) mother in law brought me round all her purchases she has brought for baby, there is so much.

anyone else worried about getting given too much stuff that they just wont use? especially clothes, i think i have about 15 baby vests, 10 sleepsuits, 6 stratch mits, 7 hats, 3 pairs of booties, 3 pairs of socks and other various pieces of clothing. i just know when the baby is here we will get more clothes. my sister said this happened to her and if tags were still on she would take back to shop and exchange for larger size or something else.

i am still confused about what kind of bedding i need for my cot/bed although i know baby wont be in this till he/she has grown out of moses basket. currently i have just one bedding set which came with the cot - it does mention on the label quilt not to be used for babies until 1 year and also to remove bumpers when baby can sit up unaided.

going swimming with me 2 nephews (18 months and 4 years) sis and mum today so that should be fun.

hope everyone has enjoyed their time off, back to work tomorrow grrrr

    awaiting update from turtlemouse:)

i am now 33 on the list :)

For cot bedding I have two waterproof mattress covers, 4 fitted sheets and two cotton cellular blankets which are fairly large and can be doubled over to provide extra warmth. I might buy more blankets if I have a particularly pukey child :D

My cot will be used from birth but that aside, any child still small enough to be in a cot doesn't need pillows, quilts or bumpers. I've also been advised by the support worker that fleece is too warm for small babies; you're better off with cotton (or wool) blankets. When the baby is bigger and starts kicking off its covers, I'm going to buy some baby sleepbags. They come in various sizes and togs so that you can get ones for summer and winter. Babe has to be a certain size to use them though to make sure they don't slip down inside.

Re. being given stuff, we've been given nothing, not one iota, nada :(:D

Yeah, I've noticed there's been a massive run on big, fat hairy pants this bank holiday. You just can't get them anywhere.

    Morning all :)

Not on for long, mum due round any minute to help with last of the tidying, am bloody knackered :o Had pre-op yesterday, all went well, took them 4 attempts to get blood from my arm so have some lovely bruises as a memento of the trip. MW said baby feels about 6 1/2 - 7lbs so that fits in with the charts of on the slightly smaller side of average. He's also lay at an awkward angle on the diagonal with his head down, after my previous issues with Jake (he got stuck in labour hence the c-section last time), they wouldn't allow labour to progress if it did start naturally now as there would be a high liklihood of the same issues... I am not fussed as c-section booked anyway but did find it quite amusing that I must just grow awkward babies that prefer the sunroof exit :p

So, anyways, felt a bit wierd this morning when I realised that tomorrow I am going to have a baby :D Slightly scared about the surgery but I will be fine once I get there am sure :o

Just wanted to say (as I might not get back on today) thank you so much for all your support on here over the last few months; there have been times I would have gone mad without you all! I will update with news as soon as I can :D

((hugs)) to those who need em, apologise I have not had time to read back :o

    Loves ya all :)
