Hello everyone - how the heck did I get 18th on the list :eek:!

I've had period like pain on and off a few days now and strong braxton hicks for at least 3 or 4 weeks. And they are painful/very uncomfortable, I don't care what anyone says! Mostly I get it in the evenings, but can get it throughout the day. It is my second, if that makes a difference.

  • Re breast pumps, just been looking on a few other sites and the Spectra 3 comes recommended. It's on Amazon for £60 and the reviews on there are quite good too - I'm tempted to give this a try now as it's a lot cheaper than the medela one - anyone out there got any experience with this particular model?

    Morning all

Jovi, I was thinking of you earlier, hope you manage to get some decent rest and sleep today. Sending all the love and luck in the world for tomorrow. Hoping to hear some lovely baby news from turtle today too :)

Well, I've had a lovely few days, espeically as DH has been off work. Had a soggy but fun BBQ on Sunday and yesterday we spent the day with the in-laws and then went to a firework display in the evening. Today I'm not even bothering to get dressed :D My feet are almost as big as my belly and need to be up up up!

I have got these weird period type pains today, they started last night (so fully empathise with you BB) However, I don't think they are start of anything as there is no pattern to them. I have only really had BH in my back so far so I'm probably just now experiencing them in the front.

I am soooooooooo excited about meeting my little boy now! :j 17 piddly little days to due date..though knowing my luck I will go the whole 12 days over and have to be induced!

Aaaah...I want to see his little face NOW! :D

Take care all - squishy hugs :grouphug: to anyone who wants one xx

Out of interest, why are people concerned about the cat still sleeping in their rooms? Is it because they might try to get in the cot? If so, you can get cat nets for prams, moses baskets and cots. We're getting one for the cot so that the baby can nap without my worrying about having to keep the door shut (the cat's always shut in the kitchen at night anyway

I blame the internet! My DH has been reading up on cats and newborns and according to the 'experts' cats like warm places such as a newborns head (not my viewpoint) and have been known to crawl into the cot and accidently smother the child by snuggling up to its head! Now as I said this is not my viewpoint and I had actually planned on letting the cat in the room etc but DH is now worried. I did ask in M&Ps if they did the cot nets but I was told you cant get them due to the possibility of it coming off and smothering the child. How much this is the opinion of the woman in the shop I dont know.

I want my cat and the baby to have contact and I'm all for germs - seen how being too cleanly can affect children - but I think my cat is going to hate having competition. DH wants to move the cats bed out of our room at the beginning of July and close the door on him. How that one will work I dont know as I cant go to the toilet without my shadow being with me and if I have closed the door on him he cries and scratches to get in.

Ok, surely a net is something that you can breathe through?? Unless it's strangulation they're worried about...?
