On the cat thing, I have no idea what my mother did when I was really small but we had a siamese cat who put up with all sorts of abuse from me, and there is a picture of me at toddler age snuggled right up to the cat. I suppose as all things it depends on the cat as to whether they'd attack the child - although I think it unlikely - and you will jsut have to be sensible regards the possible smother risk. If you're in bed anyway I'm sure the cat would enjoy its usual spot with you rather than heading for the odd smelly noisy thing next to you!0

Good luck Jovi look forward to hearing your good news.
I have had a mixed day, the jungle babies 'r' us deal is in stock in our closest store so we went to the internet cafe to print the voucher and made our way down there.
We asked about home delivery but she insisted that the flat pack would fit in our car despite explaining that we have a tiny fiat panda. We bought the set and an outfit for LadyBoyd to come home in but it wouldn't fit in our car.
They suggested tying it with string to the top of our car which we wouldn't consider doing and then suggesting we pay £60 for a taxi to get it home as we had no other options.
We ended up getting a refund for it all which although simple to do had us both in tears. Wasn't nice having to get a refund for baby things again and just bought everything to the surface.
I am now getting increasingly paranoid. I am 25 weeks and have bought nothing for this baby and everytime I try to something stops us and I am now worried that there is a reason we can't buy anything, like fate is trying to tell us something.
I am still feeling LadyBoyd kick but getting increasingly worried about it all.

Ooh thanks jo re the nursing chair...am so tempted as I love them and really want one!
I can't believe I'm 11th on the list now...! However, now that my house is pretty much sorted, I feel a lot better about things and am in fact quite looking forward to baby arriving now!
Went for my regular monitoring this morning and the midwife was very impressed with the strength of my braxton hicks! She said I might not even make it to my next appointment on fri...!
My mum, aunt and nana cleaned my kitchen, porch and bathroom this morning, it's amazing!Looks so much better. DH has been clearing out the other rooms and vaxing the carpets too, so we are regaining some form of cleanliness at last!
In other news, I've started getting a little bit of boob leakage (finally!) All very exciting:rotfl:
Jovi, all the very best for tomorrow!Must be such a weird feeling leaving home and knowing that you'll be returning with another person...! Looking forward to hearing your news

Hi everyone,
As I expected I've not managed to get on here very often, but I am reading through most of my daily email updates so just about keeping up with you all!
turtle and jovi - good luck! Looking forward to seeing cute baby pictures soon!
rjh - good luck for your exam tomorrow!
I have had an ok weekend, but it has been somewhat blighted by having quite a lot of work to do, so I spent most of saturday, sunday and today either working and not getting very far, or sat in front of my laptop procrastinating (as I am doing now!). I wouldn't mind so much but the work i'm doing is pretty soul destroying and seemingly endless... oh well the worst of it will be over after this weekend. Plus I only have 3 days works followed by 2 weeks off, so can't complain too much about working this weekend.
I did have a lovely day yesterday at a family garden party for the jubilee, got to meet my cousin's baby who is about a week old. They are going to lend us a doppler so we will get to listen to the heartbeat at home (heard it for the first time at my 16 week midwife appointment last week). Was also nice to show off my little bump and play with my aunties 4 gorgeous dogs.
Have also looked at a couple of houses this weekend with my MIL. She is house buying for the first time as she inherited her current house, so doesn't know a great deal about the whole process. I'm trying to drum in the importance of location but I think I may be stressing her out a bit. Today was funny because I thought the house was great and she came out feeling sick from how horrible it was LOL - we are quite different!
Right, I'm going to try to get my work done and not just spend the day playing solitaire on my phone :-/Proud to be a moneysaver! :cool:0 -

Out of interest, why are people concerned about the cat still sleeping in their rooms? Is it because they might try to get in the cot? If so, you can get cat nets for prams, moses baskets and cots. We're getting one for the cot so that the baby can nap without my worrying about having to keep the door shut (the cat's always shut in the kitchen at night anyway).
Remember as well, that pets are good for babies! Good for their immune systems
Only reason I keep the cat out of the baby's room is purely and simply... black cat with her hobbies including shedding, shedding and shedding + pale plain green carpet = I have to hoover more and I'm lazy.
Never ever had a problem with cats and babies - I grew up with cats, my younger brother grew up with cats, and we've got the wonky-mog... who hasn't been at all bothered by the arrival of the baby, hasn't tried to get on any of her things (granted she finds it harder to up-jump into stuff because she's missing a back leg), just is a bit of pain in insisting on cuddling up next to you when you're feeding the baby (but she's a bit of a cuddle-kitten anyway).
The one we had problems with was the ex-racing greyhound. Lots of greys have a thing for teddybears to play with (fling them in the air and catch them, then go to sleep "cuddling" them) and we had a bit of a difference of opinion regarding soft toys... greyhound's opinion was they belonged to her - my opinion differed! She also liked to try to kidnap anything soft and white and fluffy - never to damage it - you'd just see a blanket very very slowly and gently starting to walk across the floor!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
Jovi just wanted to wish you all the best for tomorrow in case I don't make it back on here tonight!
Had a really boring day at work - everyone is so demotivated cos we have had to come in, and to make matters worse NONE of the directors (who made the stupid decision that we should work) are in. I have mainly spent my day thinking about buying birthday and christmas present! yes, I am one of those annoying people who buys their presents very early! But I am due in September and I have lots of birthday from August - October so I am mainly getting those presents now so I don't have to think about it when LO comes along!
Feeling really tired now and just want to go home and get on the sofa. Don't know what to make for dinner either - I am getting really lazy with cooking these days! Anyone got any quick and easy ideas?0 -
Our cat is also a wonky - he is pure black and missing a back left leg thanks to being run over a second time - first time he was just badly bruised and lost half a canine, and second, he broke his leg really badly and it had to be amputated. We've just brought in the cot bedding and mattress, and he didn't bat an eyelid, but as soon as Moon brought in the massive heavy box with the cot in, he scarpered out into the rain. He's since been in though and we've made a big fuss of him, so he seems to be back to his normal purry self.
Sorry to hear about the cot etc kitten - have you got any friends or family nearby who have bigger cars who may be able to help you out? Can Toys r Us not put it by for you for a few days whilst you arrange collection? I must admit it was a very tight squeeze getting it into Moon's Toyota Yaris with the back seats folded down, and I think I'll have permanent impressions of the glovebox on my knees where I literally just had enough room to bend them. Try not to think of it as a sign that something is going to go wrong. Maybe they'll have a 25% off event now nearer to September (knowing my luck with buying stuff and it going on offer just after, this could be the case), and then you'll save yourself even more.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170
