I'm finding all this talk about reusable nappies very interesting ladies - it really suprises me how popular the idea seems to be! I must be honest and say it is definately not for me, but I'm loving the gorgeous colours Rebakah
I'm pretty much with you turtlemoose and kittenpie regarding breastfeeding - I really want to do it, DH wants me too but I can't help feeling a little sad he won't have opportunity to feed little man as I know he will love it so much. So definately will explore expressing as soon as possible, will have a chat to midwife/health vistor about it.

I know I'm having a baby, I know I've been pregnant for a long time, I know that the bump (and all the other symptoms) have been around a long time......BUT I am still freaking out a little bit because all of a sudden IT'S GOING TO COME OUT SOON. I love it already, and I'm used to its little movements and quirks, what foods it likes, what position it prefers me to lay/sit etc. But soon it will not be my bump any more, it will be a whole new person and OH just doesn't get why that is terrifying!!
......or have I just totally lost the plot.... :rotfl:
Right i've done my collecting for the christian aid on the street. Just shoving some grub down and then I need to get on the bus to town and go swimming.0 -
Well good afternoon ladies!
I've been really good and not lurking on here today. After the kerfuffle yday the assignment for uni is all doneI posted it so it's on it's way! Bit disappointed I can't get a good mark, but still once I do the assessment at work in a couple of weeks hopefully that's the degree done and I can relax
I do feel exhausted though, couldn't find the "uni regulation" type folder which sent me manic even to the point I thought of climbing in the loft to find one  but now I'm going to lie in bed with a cuppa as my whole body is on fire!
MissMoney sending big hugs. Glad the pool is all working etc.
Emsbet I still haven't looked up this sheep thing. Have you had a play yet?
TurtleMoose glad your appt went ok-ish. Good luck for the sweep.
Triangle I think we'll all be a bit emotional when we get to washing the baby clothes, I think reality may set in then
Mishka...seriously ppl iron baby grows? Maybe my baby will be a scruffI'm not an ironing fan either. Happy birthday to your DS too.
Reuseable nappies thank you everyone for all the advice. As I sit here I think it's a lovely idea, but in reality I may be too lazyBut doesn't sound like that much extrar work. Will see how it goes. It amazes me that it's some of the older people that laugh as they used the terry nappies etc. It's annoying me when you say how you plan to do things and people either laugh or tell you you're wrong....you have your own kids so you've done what you wanted now it's MY TURN!!! SOrry that turned into a rant lol.
Breastfeeding I'm another who's hoping to feed bubba myself. I have a pump and bottles incase it doesn't happen. OH is keen for me to feed also, but has said he'd like to be able to feed sometimes too. I've told him (jokingly) that he can always hold the booby for bubba heheI think he's worried about me having to do all the night time feeds, but I did point that he will be going to work and the idea of me being home is too look after the baby. However I might take advantage at weekends as I haven't really developed my nipple extender yet :rotfl:

Shopping Alert!!!
Just popped onto M&P to look at swimming costumes as have been promised some e-voucher via bounty...anyway...they have a deal on maternity bras 3 for £15. Some knickers are in the deal too. There's a limited choice now and limited sizes but I just got three (one a few sizes too big so hope I grow into it) for £15 and they were like £20 each. And they're doing free delivery on maternity clothes too so free delivery =over £51 saving. And didn't know I needed them
Didn't have the costume that was recommended by I think triangle in my size so I'm off to matalan (online) to look at that one. I need it for Monday so Not much I've to shop arghhhh!!!!!:j Baby boy arrived 22nd August 2012 :j

Well I collected my bras from mothercare, and luckily tried them on in the changing room (different sized bras as different cuts etc). One of them didn't fit at all, so I had to get both bras refunded, and I decided to swap the one that didn't fit for a pack of 2 sleep bras (£24 for 2 so not that cheap, but needs must and I'm sure they'll get used) so that I could get the buy one get one half price on their clothing at the moment. I did see a really cute babygrow whilst I was in there, that I spotted when we were in Southampton, and I may just get it - I'm leaving it for a while though as the baby isn't due til September, and it may go in a summer sale or similar nearer the time - I keep making the mistake of buying things too early at the moment and then better offers coming up a day or two later.
I also went to Sainsbugs after looking on mysupermarket for breast pads, and bought some of their own breast pads for £1.87 (4.7p/pad) as they were the cheapest available at the moment and seemed to be fairly well thought of. I have them in at the moment with the new bra, so will let you know what I think of them once I've tried them out. Hopefully it'll be helpful for any of you who need to use them to know if they're any good, especially as you can pick them up with you food shopping.
Well got to go eat dinner as babysitting at 7pm and need to get petrol on the way too.
Hugs to all who need or want them,
