    They are great.

Only thing he does want is to be able to feed LO, so I have agreed that once breastfeeding has been established I will express every now and then so that he can bond too.

That's the same as my OH; he was horrified when I said I wanted to breastfeed as he wants to be able to feed baby too, but he came round a bit when I said I would express milk so that he could bond with baby.

Fluffnutter I'm sure you're right, I've read that ebay doesn't allow the sale of used reusable nappies!

http://www.madeformums.com/what-to-buy---pregnancy/guide-to-buying-secondhand-reusable-nappies/11328.html found on this site this quote.... eBay has a blanket policy on what they can and can’t sell. The eBay rules on cloth nappies state: “Used underwear including, but not limited to, boxer shorts, panties, briefs, athletic supporters and cloth nappies is not permitted. Listings that contain inappropriate descriptions will be ended.”

Jovi I'm another one here who has pretty much been constantly hungry since about 24 weeks! I've tried to be sensible about it, I mean I can't actually be hungry that often, so did try not to go nuts and stuff my face with crap, and stocked up on lots and lots of fruit, low sugar cereals, nuts, etc. also found drinking a pint of milk is good - fills you up and of course you get calcium.

One thing I don't understand about reusables, what do you do with the actual poo? Surely even if you scrape it off (erm gross) then there's still poo on there... I really don't like the thought of poo in my washing machine where everyone else's clothes go......

My OH is with me on breastfeeding, he's firmly on the "breast is best" bandwagon, he should work for the NHS lol, but he's also disappointed about not feeding, so my plan is BF (as long as all ok etc) with expressing for daddy/big brother to be able to do some feeds/bonding.

I've just got back from the hospital, BP is at 124/94 which is nice and steady for me - consultant says no good!!!! He says best thing would be if I was to go in to labour naturally ASAP....I'm booked in for a growth scan monday because my BP tablets can apparently affect growth...but I've read that after 38 weeks baby basically doesn't really grow any more anyway, just gets fatter, so bit confused about that.

They are going to do a sweep on Monday to try to kick start things...I'll be 38+5, eeep! I know that it's technically well over "full term" ....but I'm not sure I'm ready for the idea of my baby to become a real baby just yet, and the fact I now have an actual, booked appointment 4 days away has scared the crap outa me!!!!!

    Hi folks,

I haven't posted here in a while and am amazed at how far up the list I am now! Number 13! One of my lucky numbers!!

Anyway, went for my 37+4 scan yesterday to see if placenta has moved and it has! So it looks like I'm all set for a natural birth - I'm hoping for a waterbirth with lots of gas and air!!

I started researching reusable nappies weeks ago - there are just too many types out there, it's very confusing! No council scheme, baby shows, nappucinos near me either and despite the fact that I don't know anybody who has used them before, I decided I had to give it a try. DH was not up for it - he remembers his mother using the old style ones for his younger siblings 20 odd years ago so I had a task on my hands trying to convince him that progress had been made in the meantime. When he told his mother my plans, she actually laughed!! As a result, I haven't told anybody else. I've decided to buy the Teenyfit mini pack from thenappylady.com - 6 reusable nappies for newborns, all in different colours - cost £51.99 - will probably only last 6 weeks or so but we can use them with disposables during this time and see how we get on with them. They are pocket nappies (all in one) and I have also ordered a Little Lamb onesize pocket nappy (only £6.50) to see what it looks like. DH has major issues with baby wearing a nappy that is obviously big through clothes and therefore I am hoping that by wearing the teenyfits he will see that reusables can be slimfitting (and easy to use/wash) and will be more open to other types of reusables by the time the baby has outgrown them. So while the £52 on reusables that only last 6 weeks might sound expensive, they will save money in the long run because he will be more open-minded over the course of the next 3 years and beyond when we hopefully have more babies!

In other MSE endeavours, I have started saving old clothes that DH and I wanted to throw into the bin - these will be torn up into reusable wipes and used with water/small bit of baby wash (in a spray gun) to wash baby's bum and save a small fortune in baby wipes. :D Apparently, you can also use water and chamomile tea as a recipe when using reusable wipes too...

Am off in search of leftovers for my lunch now!

You're not supposed to sell used nappies on ebay, but people just list them as new and then say in the description that they're used. Apparently washable nappies come under the same category as used underwear, which you're also not allowed to sell :rotfl::eek:

There are a few independant sites for selling/buying used nappies https://www.usednappies.co.uk and https://www.clothnappytree.com but I have to admit we've gone for a brand new set, not very MSE. This is our first baby though, and we want 2/3 so they'll get plenty of use :p

It's a bit scary isn't it?! I mean I KNOW I'm going to have a baby in a few days BUT it doesn't actually seem real at all! A bit dream like... it's weird to think I will have 3 little girls instead of 2 in a matter of days  and i will be doing all the baby things with the baby... :o sounds stupid but there you go lol:rotfl:

Re reusables, you buy rolls of flushable liners (they typically have 100 liners per roll), these go inside the nappy (closest to baby's skin). If the baby pees, the pee goes through the liner and into the nappy. If the baby poos, when you change the nappy, all the poo is on the liner - you simply flick the liner (and the poo) down the toilet. If the baby hasn't done a poo, you put the liner into the wash with the nappy and can use it again.

When we were at antenatal classes, DH was a bit surprised to hear that if I was breastfeeding (which we both want), they recommend that I don't express for at least 4-6 weeks so that the baby doesn't get nipple confusion. So it sounds like he won't be able to feed the baby at all for the first 4 weeks which is a bit disappointing. Interestingly enough, if I do express, the one person who shouldn't feed the baby through the bottle for the first few weeks is me - apparently they get v confused and may refuse to take the breast afterwards.

Am definitely getting some lunch now!

Miss money I know what you mean. I was trying to explain to my OH and he just didn't get it. I know I'm having a baby, I know I've been pregnant for a long time, I know that the bump (and all the other symptoms) have been around a long time......BUT I am still freaking out a little bit because all of a sudden IT'S GOING TO COME OUT SOON. I love it already, and I'm used to its little movements and quirks, what foods it likes, what position it prefers me to lay/sit etc. But soon it will not be my bump any more, it will be a whole new person and OH just doesn't get why that is terrifying!!

......or have I just totally lost the plot.... :rotfl:
