I did that the other day too, the whole house smelt of baby - the floaty happy feeling soon vanished when I started to iron them though :rotfl: I hate ironing flat sheets let alone fiddly tiny outfits with poppers everywhere !

Thanks again for the washable nappy advice, I'm going to give it a go :j

Its my baby boys 7th birthday today  not sure when that happened but it was lovely seeing his big smiley face this morning as he opened his presents :)

SM, I think people were bras and breast pads. Maybe one of those more crop top type bras might be more comfortable for night time (assuming the pads stay put in them)

Talking of boobs, my aren't really leaking, seen some small amounts of discharge on my nipples but not enough to stain my clothes. However I have notices that some of the Montgomery's Tuburcles (or whatever they are called- the bumps on the areola) have gotten a lot bigger than the others and I have noticed some dried discharge on my areola between my nipple and the tuburcle on the underside of my nipple. I'm not sure if this is discharge from my nipple that's settled further down or if it's coming from the MT. May have to ask the midwife when I see her a week on Tuesday just to check

My boobs are exactly the same. I'm guessing it's all normal :)

My DH is very against baby having a dummy. While I'd prefer not to use them, I know that if we have a really fussy baby we may change our minds ;)

I was anti-dummies too until I read that they're thought to be one of the ways to reduce the risk of cot death. I can't vouch for the soundness of that advice obviously, but it came from the Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths which is the leading charity involved in cot death research.

The advice is to use a dummy once bf is established, don't worry if it falls out during the night, and wean them off it between six months and a year.

I'll see how it goes personally. If I have an easy baby (as if!) then I'll probably not bother because I doubt it makes an awful lot of difference to the risk. Plus I can't stand watching mothers suck dummies that have fallen on the floor then shove them in their baby's mouth :D

Loving all the talk of reusable nappies, I really wanted to try them but OH is not very keen so have agreed to stick to disposables but he's ok with the breastfeeding which is a good job cos I'm determined to even try even though I have been met with nothing but negativity from family and friends about it.

Speaking of boobs, I thought I'd broken one of mine last night. I rolled over and it kind of wedged under me and it really bloody hurt. Think thats why I was awake from 2:20am. Sooo sleepy now.

Yep I think that's a really important point - I think it would be very difficult if one's OH is not on the same page as you.

The FSID do a booklet which they'll send you if you request it from their website - it's quite interesting, has a lot of stuff about preventing sudden infant death but also a checklist of how to tell if your baby is really unwell and things like that.

    Still not here...

Yep he's very much on a different page to me regarding them, he won't even let me get one of the free trial packs from the council to at least see how we get on with them :( It's as much his child as mine though so I have to respect his wishes and I'm ok with disposables just would have liked to have try the re-usables.
