Morning ladies,
Thanks so much for taking the time to post the info on washable nappies 4nnabella. It's useful to hear from someone who is already using them about how practical they are.
Well the leaky boob/s (mainly my left one) seem to have become a regular occurance now. Before it was only a tiny bit at night, but last night and the night before, I'd changed into my nightie early, and it started leaking whilst I watched tv. This morning, my nightie had quite a few much larger patches on it that I've had before. What do people do about leaky boobs at night? Do you wear bras to sleep in and use breast pads, or just let them go au naturel? I've got to pop into town and to mothercare this morning to pick up the maternity bras I ordered at the weekend, so would be good to hear what others do, so I can pick up breast pads etc if I need them. Thanks for the advice.
RE: MAM starter set - I bought it at Toys r us at the weekend with their 20% off, and if I'd known, I would've waited to get them from Argos as Moon has a voucher too - oh well never mind.

I have bought a birth to potty set of Tots Bots Easy Fit from the baby show and am really up for using them .
The only thing that puts a downer on my plans are other people's reactions when I tell them we are planning to use cloth.
They usually pull faces, or roll their eyes, or say "you'll change your mind" or just laugh.
It annoys me so much. I mean most of our mothers and grandmothers used cloth nappies and the terries that they used were an awful palaver to get to grips with. The modern cloth nappies are so much better.
It also annoys me that people think it's ok to patronise me as if I'm just a silly girl who's got a head full of fanciful ideas.
I feel like shouting sometimes. "I'm not an idiot! I'm nearly 30! I have got 8 nieces and nephews! I have got some idea of what it will be like!"
grrrrr
Sorry rant over!
LOLZZ I'm actually in a really good mood today! :rotfl:
I know what you mean, some people think the way they did things is the way everyone else should. I'm not telling most people a lot of the things I'm planning on doing as I don't want anyone trying to put me off. Constructive advice is one thing but putting people down because their ideas aren't the same as yours is out of order. We are going into this with an open mind about what we are going to do as what works for one baby doesn't necessarily work for another. My DH is very against baby having a dummy. While I'd prefer not to use them, I know that if we have a really fussy baby we may change our mindsMrsExcited wrote: »Emsbet - I love your nursery!

I am gonna have baby bottles coming out of my ears! But at least I will have a few different kinds so if the baby doesn't take to one type I will have another handy to try.
Now I've got all these bottles you can bet that my breastfeeding will be so successful I won't need to use any of them!
Ha!
I think this is the only set I'm going to buy until after baby is here. I plan on breast feeding initially (if I can) and then to switch to combination feeding around 6 weeks. I will see how little man gets on with the MAM bottles before buying more or buying different ones. We live very close to a large Tesco Extra and also a retail park with a Boots and ASDA so if we need some different ones it won't be too hard to get DH to pop down there.

Thanks for the info 4nnabella
I have the bambino mio set ready to go so am definately going to be trying reusables after the first few weeks have settled down
Sexymouse I think I would use breast pads if you are leaking a fair bit, I guess it depends on how you sleep wearing a bra - I find it nigh on impossible
(((hugs))) Miss Money Hope you feeling a bit better today
Am in a bit of a grump at the moment as DS was a pain in the butt before going to school, he has demolished the front room while I was upstairs getting dressed, refused to put his clothes on for school then told me 'teachers are more important than mum's as they teach him more important things':mad::mad: Not a major thing I realise as he probably didn't really mean it, however in my hormone filled state at the moment it has really wound me upAm thinking chocolate might be in order before I tackle the housework

SM, I think people were bras and breast pads. Maybe one of those more crop top type bras might be more comfortable for night time (assuming the pads stay put in them)
Talking of boobs, my aren't really leaking, seen some small amounts of discharge on my nipples but not enough to stain my clothes. However I have notices that some of the Montgomery's Tuburcles (or whatever they are called- the bumps on the areola) have gotten a lot bigger than the others and I have noticed some dried discharge on my areola between my nipple and the tuburcle on the underside of my nipple. I'm not sure if this is discharge from my nipple that's settled further down or if it's coming from the MT. May have to ask the midwife when I see her a week on Tuesday just to check

Thanks ladies. I think the crop top style ones may be ok to sleep in - have slept in a croptop when having an afternoon nap when none of my bras fitted any more, so it may be an option to try that with some pads in. Will ask in mothercare whilst I'm there if they have any recommendations.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

soz can't help you with the leaky boob thing. I don't wear a bra at night either but I have noticed that my boobs hang down now which they didn't before so I might start to. (obviously they're bigger now so gravity needs some help)0 -

Aww you big softie!
I don't blame you to be honest. It is so exciting and those sleepsuits are so cute. Soon you are going to have the most beautiful baby in the world to put in them and your life will never be the same again, it will be harder but infinitely better!
I can't wait! We are so lucky aren't we?0 -

Yes I think you are wise - open mind. That is what we are doing too. We know that there are certain things that we really want to do i.e breastfeeding, cloth nappies but that for whatever reason those things might not be possible.
But it doesn't hurt to have ideas or ideals does it? These negative people really get my goat.
But I'm still in a good mood. :rotfl:honestly!!! :rotfl:0
