how many do i need ? what else will i need to buy ? is my washing machine going to be on all the time ?
just seems so much easier to pop to shop and buy some
Ah but if you have a good stash of cloth nappies, you will never have to worry about having to pop to the shop to buy a pack of sposies, or running out at 3am...
With regards to the washing machine being on all the time, yes I do more washing now but it doesn't feel like any more work. I reckon I wash baby clothes twice a week and nappies twice a week. I used sposies for the first six weeks or so just while i was finding my feet with the whole baby thing. Now that we're in more of a routine, I don't really notice.:j Debt Free 27.07.2011!! :j0 -

We had 2 weekly scans to 9 weeks, I'm 11+3 now and my 12wk scan is next Thursday. Still feeling symptomy - a bit queasy, utterly exhausted, boobs still hurt, so we're keeping our fingers crossed. I don't know, it's hard to think about because it's easier to assume that it's not going to work out. The consultant seems hopeful though, nothing came up in the tests they did at the RMC so as far as we know there's no reason it shouldn't be fine. We're already further along than we've ever been - at the last scan it had started to actually look like a baby and gave a little wiggle! - so we're tentatively hopeful.
How's things with you? Your nursery looks lovely, babies don't need that much space - and all your shelves are off the floor so when it starts moving about it won't fling everything on the floor and giggle hysterically as my DSS apparently used to do...

Morning everyone!
Congrats to new mummies, Gtothec and Nutella I think!
Wow, Annabella you certainly know your stuff about washables, I'm certainly now tempted to give it a go! I won a couple of Itti Bitti ones which I will have a little try with.
Emsbet, your nursery looks fab. Think I might get the Ikea chair too, it looks really compact.
I'm very excited to be 24 weeks today, it feels like a big milestone. Bump has been expanding rapidly and time is going very quickly. Off to the Baby Show on Sunday and can't wait. Really hoping for a deal on the Oyster so we can get it all ordered as I think there are about 12 week delays so will be cutting it a bit fine!
Hope everyone else is doing ok.0 -

Morning ladies
We're going to use washables too, I ordered ours during real nappy week and I can't wait to use them, they're so cute and the colours are gorgeousWe got the Fuzzibunz birth to potty set from fillyourpants http://www.fill-your-pants.com/pocket-nappies/real-nappy-kit.html, and a set of washable wipes called cheeky wipeshttp://www.fill-your-pants.com/cloth-baby-wipes/cheeky-wipes.html. My sister used washables with her girls, starting when my older niece was around 1 (she was given a set of 2-part nappies by a friend) and from about 10 days with my younger niece once she came along.
DH has adjusted one of the nappies to newborn size and put it on Beanie's first cuddly toy, it cracks me up every time I see it. Must take a photo later
Feeling very large today, although I'm only 14 weeksI think Beanie is pushing all my tummy fat up and making it stick out more! :rotfl:

Just a quickie to say thanks so much 4nabella.
I have bought a birth to potty set of Tots Bots Easy Fit from the baby show and am really up for using them .
The only thing that puts a downer on my plans are other people's reactions when I tell them we are planning to use cloth.
They usually pull faces, or roll their eyes, or say "you'll change your mind" or just laugh.
It annoys me so much. I mean most of our mothers and grandmothers used cloth nappies and the terries that they used were an awful palaver to get to grips with. The modern cloth nappies are so much better.
It also annoys me that people think it's ok to patronise me as if I'm just a silly girl who's got a head full of fanciful ideas.
I feel like shouting sometimes. "I'm not an idiot! I'm nearly 30! I have got 8 nieces and nephews! I have got some idea of what it will be like!"
grrrrr
Sorry rant over!
LOLZZ I'm actually in a really good mood today! :rotfl:
Emsbet - I love your nursery!
Emsbet & Gilly - I have already ordered those MAM bottles too! But I have also got a set off 6 tommee tippee bottles that I bought before when I went to the baby show. This was before I saw all the recommendations for the MAMs.
I am gonna have baby bottles coming out of my ears! But at least I will have a few different kinds so if the baby doesn't take to one type I will have another handy to try.
Now I've got all these bottles you can bet that my breastfeeding will be so successful I won't need to use any of them!
Ha!0
