was really interesting reading about the reusable nappies - we are definately giving it a go. we are planning to use disposibles for a couple of weeks then try the reusables - i have no idea what type to buy, there are so many eeekkk there is a lady locally though that has 3/4 types of nappies which you pay to trial for 2 weeks, so thinking of doing this before making any purchases.

Rebekah - love the rainbow ones, i have always had a weakness for anything rainbow :)

Turtlemouse - you could be with your baby next week :) hope the sweep goes well

re breastfeeding - i really want to go for it. my sister breast fed both of her children one for a year and the second for 8 months. my sister is very positive about breast feeding but everyone else i speak to isnt. if breastfeeding works out for me, then plan to express afer 6 weeks, so OH can do some night feeds. when i went to mothercare event they recommended the medula breast pump and bottles, the teats have a double suck action which is most like being breastfed. it is also one of the most expensive pumps on the market so havent purchased this yet.

had a better day today, no nausea, i think the evil iron tablets are finally out of my system. i am taking 50mgs a day of a different form of iron which doesnt upset my stomach. i am anxious to get my levels tested again after reading low iron levels can result in baby coming early eekkk

strange to see not many boldies at the top....

It's very quite here tonight. Ive just been partaking in my new favourite pastime, sitting in the bath watching baby make my bump move :)

I made some flapjacks for the first time this afternoon, if I'd have known how easy they are to make if have made them sooner because they are yummy :D I think I might start doing some baking while I'm at home alone as although I'm quite good with the cooking my baking skills are somewhat lacking. I'd like to be one of those mums who bakes loads of yummy things like my MIL :)

Evening all, I have been lurking for a number of weeks but decided it was time to join in. Hope you don't mind :) re: reusables - I used the mothercare ones with my DD and will use them again with this one. I just didn't use them for first few weeks when poo was thick and black. If you are buying liners just make sure they are flushable otherwise they will block up your system and not be very MSE :D if you can get to a home bargains you can get tea tree oil for less than a pound which will make the nappy bucket smell nice if you dry pail :)

Re: breast feeding. I BF my DD for 9 and a half months.one day she decided she didn't want to anymore and the timing was perfect. I just moved her on to cows milk. But, some advice for what it may be worth. Despite not following 99% of what gina ford said in her book, I did follow her advice on BF which is to express after 2 weeks, despie midwife and health visitors saying wait. Her reason being that most women who stop do so about week 6 when baby has a growth spurt, and wants to feed more as they are feeding on milk you have been producing, so it takes a few days to catch up. By this time many have given up. If you express early you will have enough milk to cover the growth spurts. I did this (but didn't follow her timings, I just did it when I had time and energy:o)

The first time I expressed I got about an ounce. I was so impressed with myself :rotfl: it did take about 45 minutes though:eek: I got better and so did th volumes, which meant as soon as I had one feed for DH to give DD I could express a full feed at this time and always be one ahead of the game. Just froze them in bags.

Hope this is of use to someone :D

It's very cool to watch. I'd have a bath everyday if I could but were on a water meter so I don't think DH would be impressed if I did ;)

We only have a bath and noticed my tummy move yesterday. So cool to see again. Do wish I had a shower though, it takes so long to fill the bath etc.
