Good morning all, seems I am first here today
Been up since 5, wide awake (but stayed in bed so as not to disturb OH, he's gone to work now so taking advantage of having the ps3 to myself!) ....bump is pressing down so hard I think that's what woke me.....it's so uncomfortable lately, the closest I can describe it is when you haven't ridden a bike for ages, then go on a long bike ride, that deep-in-the-bum-bones kind of ache - that is what baby is doing to me!!!! But surely it's too far backwards? Anybody else near full term (or done this gig before) had a baby-in-the-butt sensation????0 -
Hi All
With regards to the mam starter set if you want to use all 8 bottles you can buy spares/extras from the mam website I think they're £1 each. I found with the starter set thou that I used the 4 smaller bottles when dd was little and we had actually bought a few more small ones and once she was on bigger bottles we used the bigger ones and we also bought more of them!
Sorry if I have repeated what anyone else has said but I haven't read all the way back!0 -
Morning all,
Well I'm not sure if it's just me having sensitive skin, but the Sainsbugs breast pads were not that much of a success. They did absorb the leakage, but they also made my boobs itch like mad and brought me out in a rash where the pads had been on. I'm clearly allergic to them, so I think I'm going to take them back if I'm able to. Trouble is, it leaves me back to square one with needing to get some more now. Any recommendations anyone? Last night, I put one of my old croptops on (was going to wear the mothercare sleep bras, but realised they probably ought to be washed first as they smell strongly of chemicals) and put two cotton wool pads in over my nipples - they moved around a bit in the night though, so not to be recommended, but as a last resort, you could tape them on with some surgical tape if you have any (we don't).
Thanks for the tip on the MAM bottles Dee - £1 sounds quite reasonable.
Well I'd better go and get some breakfast, as my tummy is rumbling.
Hugs for all who need or want them, and labour vibes where appropriate.

yup yup and yup. baby in the backside is perfectly normal... it feels like pressure down there.. which is why it feels like you need to poo when pushing! :rotfl:Bad mother to 2!

Morning all, 37 weeks today!
Spent a chunk of last night vomitting and really needing the loo so didn't sleep well at allFeeling mostly OK this morning apart from tired so a bit happier especially as I have a tutorial tomorrow I really can't miss.
Baby is moving constantly and seems to be lower down though I still don't think he's engaged
Going to see the obstetrician today (again) to discuss what the anaethetist said on Tuesday and hopefully confirm what the decion tree is going to be regarding labour, admittance, antibiotics, pain relief etc... I want it written in BIG LETTERS on my notes and signed by the obstetrician to reduce arguments with midwives at the maternity unit. Admittedly they've mostly been really good with me but they don't seem to pay much attention to my notes as last time I had a seizure and went to get baby checked out I got lectured on how it wasn't a maternity problem and I should've gone to A&E.
It took a while to point out that I don't need medical treatment after a seizure, but my notes clearly state that baby needs to be checked after one
This is my first obstetrician appointment where I haven't had a scan first and my OH hasn't come with me. He did offer to come but has some revision events at work which will hopefully help him
pass his exams so I told him to go to those instead. I'm figuring that as I saw the Obs last Friday, anethetist Tuesday and not having another scan there's unlikely to be anything scary today. Though my OH did make a comment about it being typical of me to go to an outpatients appointment and come home with a babyHe's promised to keep his mobile phone on at all times including during the meetings.
Regarding breast pads, I haven't tried them yet as I'm not leaking but I got some tommee tippee ones from ASDA on sale as my friend tried a number of supermarket branded ones and the Mothercare ones and found them all to irritate her. During the ASDA baby event (don't know if it's still one) they were the same price as the ASDA's own so I figured it does no harm to try them.
I'd better go get ready for the appointment. Labour vibes to everyone who wants them, welcome to newbies and hugs to everyone.0 -
Thanks for the advice Triangle and MrsManda - will try and get some of the Tommee Tippee ones today then.
Just waiting for the emergency doctor to call me about my heartburn, as the gaviscon isn't touching it any more, and the surgery don't have any appointments left for today. Feel cheeky that it has to be an emergency doctor, as it's not really an emergency, but the receptionist is fully aware of the reason for my appointment, so hopefully it's ok.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -
I have nothing much to say this morning ladies. The highlight of my day will be walking down to Tesco to try and collect the Angelcare monitor we have ordered! This is assuming of course the weather cooperates!

Yay! :DThink baby has just had a flurry of activity! Just felt a few movements! Well, I assume that it was baby kicking, kind of felt like a strong 'pulse'. Stopped now, but that has made me a lot happier, I was kind of getting a bit worried!0

Morning ladies
I'm no longer the bottom of the list! that's a bit scary!
DH and I spent about an hour and a half last night debating baby names, and are still no closer to any sort of decision. Good thing we've got 26 weeks to goNarrowed down the list to 11 boys and 15 girls names, I like all of them but I don't love any yet
DH has a plan for us to secretly rank them and combine our scores to get a top 3 to choose from when beanie arrives, but when he started talking about weighting/reciprocals I switched off :rotfl:
