I have been using my little tracker book and living by 'if you bite it you write it'!
Yesterday was a good day, I stuck within my points very well and was very satisfied with what I ate! For breakfast I had 30g special k (3) & 1/8 of a pint of semi skimmed milk (1) and a glass of apple juice (1). For lunch it was a Tesco Light Choices tuna & cucumber sandwich (7), a packet of quavers (3), mini carrots (0) & an apple (0). In the afternoon I had an activia yogurt. For dinner, I made special vegetable fried rice. I cooked 70g rice (7), steamed a load of frozen veg (0) above it, softened 1 red onion (0) in a teaspoon of olive oil (1) & chopped 2 mushrooms. Then when the rice had cooked, I transferred the rice & veg into the walk with the red onion, added the mushroom, added 2 eggs (4) and seasoned with soy sauce, salt & pepper. There was loads, so I only had a half of that last night and I am having the rest for lunch today. it was a really satisfying meal for only 6 propoints! Yum. So I still had some points leftover, which I used on 2 Weight Watchers Chocolate Peanut Dream bars - these are really tasty! I also got the fizzy cola sweets at my meeting but I found that they gave me a really sore stomach and trapped wind (sorry - tmi?)
Now for the weekend! Eek. Still got 47 of my weekly points though so should be ok.0 -
OK first day of counting points today, spent last two days getting my head round it all
Stupid question......this weekly allowance of 49 points....do you have to use them? I think it's likely that I will end up using them but if I find myself one week not needing them does it matter?I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Bitsy - The advice is that the weeklies are there to be used if you want. I don't tend to use all of mine as I am on 44 points a day so have a generous allowance! But I will probably use 15 on a normal week, and up to the 49 if I've been out socialising lots! Lots of people find they lose better if they use the weeklies. Plus once you start getting closer to goal weight you can cut back on them to help weight loss, but if you haven't been using them throughout then you can't do this. Hi Bitsy, good luckI'm still getting used to it all too, I think it will be easier when I have signed up to the monthly pass and have access to esource to check things.
I intend to use mineThey are there for a reason I think. Plus if I start to plateau I will just cut back. But if you don't use them I don't think it will be too bad?

Oh! After my question the other day about Activity Points, I ran across something online which recommended using half and saving half - which I think I am going to try.0

I have a daily allowance of 29 points so the likelihood I won't use them is pretty remote :rotfl: but I get what you're swaying, does using them slow down down the weightloss or make no difference?
Can I just have a whinge? This pocket book with the values in is rubbish....got far more info on the old points system. Is this to make sure people have to join or sign up online perhaps? Cynic? moi?!!!! :rotfl:
ETA how many points are weetabix?? Just the ordinary ones....I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

I only have 27 so I am definately going to end up using them, haha! I have just started though so I'm not sure about it making a difference.
Probably, or buy the books... I'm going to do the monthly pass because I'm going to meetings anyway and it works out cheaper plus you can use esource. I had been trying to lose alone but turns out I can't motivate myself...0 -
It is sneaky Bitsy, I thought that too. I can look stuff up online for you for the next few weeks til my 3mth membership runs out, but there are so many apps and websites that can work out points values too.
