Hello, I hope it will be alright if I join in.
I weighed myself this morning after a few weeks of 'trying to lose weight'... I weigh more than I did at the start of the time!
So I am joining WW tonight!0 -

Evening all
<waves at Flutterby>
Can I join you? I am not starting classes but bought all the new fangled books off fleabay :money: it all seems to have changed in the 8 years since I last did WW to get married.
Anyway I have mixed feelings about dieting as I sometimes think it makes me obsessive however given my propensity to scoff food at a lightening speed some of my mindful techniques ought to help me slow down and enjoy my smaller portions. Still am fed up moaning about getting nowhere so time to shut up and get on with it.
A quick question.......I bake my own bread.....anyone got any ideas of points value per slice?I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Hi Bitsy!! :j
Do join us! I'm loving WW, I'm finding it so easy so far. You are aware of my rather busy social life :rotfl:, and I still have lost 13lbs in 7weeks!
I just point my HM as normal bread and by weight.

Thanks Flutterby
I'm glad to hear that you are still managing to lose alongside a busy social life - I think that is my main downfall!
I joined the group last night - weighed in at 12st and 1lb. Since I am 5"3 this is more than enough. I'm first of all aiming to get to a healthy weight, and I'll see how I feel from there.
I am just a little confused about the activity points - can anyone help? Am I right in thinking that I do exercise, I get extra points, and I should eat extra? Or is it I could eat extra but I shouldn't really to maximise my weight loss?
I am away over the long weekend to my hometown so I hope to weigh in when I am there, I've located a group on the Monday morning so I better get in touch with the leader to check it is still on.0 -
Evening All,
Welcome to those joining us, do keep posting, it helps to keep me motivated and so hope it does for you too.
My first WI today after joining last week, have los!t 5.5lb! Chuffed as was worrying I wasnt doing things right so thats given me a boost.
I've just signed up for a 10 mile charity walk with a friend who is also trying to loose weight, hoping that this will aid my weight loss as well as raising money for the hospice.
Looking forward to seeing how the next week goes.

Wow well done Kiwichick!! That's a fab weight loss!
Jampiece - I don't exercise (yet!) but I think you can use the activity points that you build up just like normal points, but you don't have to use them if you don't want to, and that may boost weightloss.

Wow Kiwichick, that's amazing! Well done you, you must have really stuck to the plan. Any tips?
Thanks FlutterbyI just think I might need all the help I can get this weekend, being away.
Last night I made a lovely dinner - I roasted some veg (half a red onion, 2 mushrooms, half a yellow pepper & a courgette), bunged in some home made tomato sauce I had frozen, made from tinned chopped tomatos, basil and garlic - very basic. Then about halfway through I threw in 40g dry weight pasta (that I'd cooked) & grated over 20g of low fat vegetarian chedder. It took less than half an hour to make, was really lovely & filling and was only 6 propoints by my estimation!
However, at work I did eat a piece of chocolate caramel shortbread one of the girls had made. I did try to figure out the points and I wrote it on my tracker too, and accounted for it, so thinking it won't be damaging0 -

Dont know about tips as only been doing it a week. The only thing I've done is been absolutely religeous about counting my points. Having asked advice on here I also make sure I eat my full allowance every day (even at a massive 43PP) as members have said that eating less slows weight loss.
Have started walking a bit more this week so will see if that helps.
