It's a beautiful day here today. Get out and enjoy the first spot of sunshine for a fortnight! No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

What IS wrong with us all today, huh? I was sick as a dog after posting this morning so curled up with a hot water bottle and went back to sleep. Monday take two doesn't look so bad, there is some blue in the sky.
Today is one of those days i will cheerfully admit not being alone is practically better. I woke up to find some boiled water in a glass and two crakers so nibble, as well as top find i had been covered up with more care than i had taken. I am not very ill at all, but its nice to be spoiled.0 -
I've just seen my cousin on TV.
He was being interviewed next to his property in Tewkesbury as the flood waters rise........he appeared far too happy and unconcerned about it, which seemed to confuse the poor BBC interviewer, as they clearly want everyone to panic.
He should have mentioned that his son is an Olympic Gold medal winning rower (from Beijing) which would have been a far more interesting chat.'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -
Nice to be looked after but I find sometimes if I am feeling really sick I just want to be miserable on my own....I am not feeling as temperatury today as over the weekend but stayed at home (as well) to hopefully make full recovery - although DW is starting to look pretty ill so may have to take leave later in the week if she gets as ill as I was.I think....0

Ooh - we may have a bit of a link. One of my friends used to go out with an Olympic Gold winning rower (quite a while ago)0 -
It clearly was a rainy weekend as you guys have posted 350 odd posts since I logged out last Friday PM
Took me half a day to catch up!.....And especially as Hendrix wasn't doing a lot by that time, having been dead since 1970.
Led Zep were good..... sometimes. Depended what they'd been on, pre-gig.
First concert I went to was Led Zep in Brussels, June '80.
In September that year, John Bonham died.
I always wish I was born a bit earlier because I would have loved to see Hendrix, The Doors, early Floyd,...live.
Boo, I missed Doozer's piccy in the other place.0 -

I missed it too.:(
Didn't see Hendrix either, due to a communication breakdown, as it was supposed to be my mate's turn to take the day off and queue....
Saw Floyd during a lull in their popularity, when they did a gig at the Crawdaddy Club in Richmond, which was basically a pub gig. Unfortunately it wasn't one of their best, and I spent most of the evening trying not to be seen by a person from a small town here in Devon. It was a cruel twist of fate, but I thought I'd shaken him and another guy off, but I met the other one within two weeks of reaching London and I was determined not to fall foul again. Anyway, the acquaintance collapsed & was carried out half way through, but it didn't improve the Floyd.
I also followed & enjoyed a Floyd-type band called Jade Hexagram, but whether they were any good or whether it was the 'atmosphere' at UFO is hard to say! :rotfl:
A year or so later I forgot to go to another Floyd Concert at the Royal Festival Hall.....still have the ticket.Obviously, they were on the up again by then.
Caught Zep a couple of times. Enjoyed Liverpool Scene's take off of them far more than the real thing at the Bath Blues Festival, but again, it was a long day!
Ah......It was the atmosphere, guv!:o:o:o
"Jade Hexagram
A Welsh group.from Cwmbran.eventually moving to the London psychedelic scene where they were managed by Projection ( Ian Knight and Pierre Le Doux) They played in Göteborg and were thrown out of the country for stripping the clothes off a girl on stage at the '1967 Teenage Fair' ... they went on to play at various venues in Denmark and Germany where their act of psychedelic music, fire and sex preceded groups such as The Crazy World of Arthur Brown who saw their fire act in Middle Earth"0
