Out of interest, I've told everyone here who I find attractive (George, Robert Downey Jr, etc). Who floats the NP's boats (or swan pedalos)?
Um. Dunno. Maybe my boat has a hole in it?0 -

Is that a euphemism?
Sorry, couldn't resist:o. I am in a very naughty mood tonight but I can't say why as it would give away where I work. I blame it all on the general public. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

He thinks he needs to be far enough away that I can't take a day trip to see him on a whim.
Of his list Bristol is the highest ranking uni, so that is winning at the moment.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Bristol is the only place of those i really know (never mind u is, none of which i know! A fair few ffriends round herewent to brizzle thoguh...), a couple went to nottingham, can't rememebr others....). I do really like bristol.....and bath, they are good places to live and work, well connected, reasonably.
They can be a little insulated and smug though. Nothing wrong with settling round these parts of course.....but remembering the wider world. Sort of a little london thing. But infinitely littler, thus a little less......enabling. There is a good quality of lifestyle....live music, shops, eateries, cultural events like art and cinema, decent potential for a pt job i would have thought, as you know, getting beyond the uni city ....cardiff, bath....is easy and worthwhile.
Although i have never been i always think manchester sounds like a fun place. By the time i get to go i guess i will be too decripid for fun, so i will never know if that impression is accurate!0 -
It depends on the subject and the course obviously.
What does Mrs GDB think? Is she happy for you to encourage son to go to Canada?
You could box clever and accept all 3, Lancaster and Edin through UCAS and McGill separately. Then you need to decide which is 1st and 2nd out of UK ones. How do the offers compare?
Edinburgh has the fast train line + possibly flights down to London, so more likelihood of trips home. Will he have a car at uni? If not how will he get there and back. We've done innumerable trips up and down to Manchester, but at least we have family to stay with when we go.
Schools are usually good at offering an opinion, though eldest was advised to go to Durham which he wouldn't have enjoyed as much as M/C as schools tend to concentrate their reasoning on the academic.
I'd vote Edinburgh but do I have to give a reason?
Mine has got to choose between Bristol, Nottingham, Birmingham, Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan; I think the offers are going to have some influence.
He's a mature student, well slightly mature - age 20. So, he meets the requirements for all 3 offers. They all seem a long way away, and I don't really want him driving to either of the UK ones. And then I'm supposed to provide him with a car?No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

I'm 40 years out of date with my ideas about uni rankings. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

As a matter of interest why do you not want him driving?0 -
Wish fc was around. Marmy portas is on tv, talking about fashion knicker manufacturing. Right up fc's street and her interpretation would be enlightening.0
