blardy southern. now I will have to try again tomorrow morning or ask for a refund when we get back.

Try redspottedhanky, they are usually more flexible on collection slots.

    That's a lovely photo lir.

Yes, would be lovlier if they were not both inching for the middle of the bed with me trying to get in to one side of them, Also, their throw (the white fake fur thing they are on) is not covering thr bed, and my duvet has been rucked up. So i get the last spot in the bed. :)

Its lovely having dog dog come up for a visit though. She is such a good sleeper. We made a loose no dogs upstairs rule when we moved, but in the cold tried to get them upstiars to keep our room and the back landing warm but big dog prefers down stairs and will not settle up here. Dog dog is fairly flexible, but she is
Oving being back with me and the cats tonight, every now and then just the very tip of her tail does a mini wag of contentment.

The car has unusual sized wheels and the spare is a can of foam. Since I've been doing more motorway driving I've always been slightly anxious about having a puncture on the motorway and only having foam available. Plus (being of the weaker sex) I would rely on the RAC to bail me out and phoning them to change a wheel is one thing, but phoning them to squirt foam into the tyre would probably be met with laughter. Dealer quoted me £200 for spare space saver tyre, the tray in the boot it fits into, brace, jack, locking nut etc.

Managed to find someone part-ex ing their car, selling their space saver privately because the dealer wouldn't give anything extra for it. So we did a deal at half price. Then I had the hassle of sourcing its pick up, finally done for £12. Hopefully arriving in a few days.

Many years ago LNE and I had a calendar with dog cartoons on it. One of them showed an aristocratic lady showing a nervous looking friend into a large bedroom containing a four-poster bed with lots of dogs lying on it. The caption read "It's a bit chilly tonight so I've put an extra dog on your bed."

My car is ex-motability, and its spare is a can of foam too. I really ought to check what the instructions are and make sure I would know what to do if I needed it. Thanks for reminding me.

I can change a normal tyre myself, provided the garage haven't done it up too tightly for me to get the nuts undone (although I've only once managed to get all the way to the end of the job without some passing male insisting on "helping" - ie doing it for me :)).

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

When I considered converting my old car to gas years ago because of the congestion charge, I hit a load of problems, but a major one was that the extra fuel tank replaced the spare tyre.

I know a foam tyre is meant to be a substitute but it made me feel like when I read about that cheap airline that wants to get frid of co-pilots.

    Other bit of good news.

DD's finally got offer from her last uni. A great place she's keen to go to. Had an "open day" that morphed into an interview that ended with an offer. Discussion we had about subject matter proved very useful on the day, gave her the chance to discuss subject options in her favour.

My goodness, is anyone watching the news? What on earth is Sam Cam wearing? She has on a long high neck dress the style of which is lovely but the fabric..... It looks like one of those polyester flowery covers that you used to get to put over a worn out sofa - adverts for them used to fall out of the Sunday supplements up until about 10 years ago. It is hideous.
Samantha colour coordinated and wore blue too - her sparkly gown by London-based designer Alessandra Rich featured lace details, a high neck, half sleeves and a belted waist. Similar Alessandra Rich gowns are available for around $3,000.

Do you have Sky Freesat? If so, do you have a viewing card in the box? If not you may be able to get a freesat card which accesses more channels.

Good Lord, no! We threw out the Sky thingy asap and bought this Humax PVR which gets Freesat. It merrily records whole series of things while we are outside grovelling in the mud, but of course it only stores what one asks it to record......

.....and I haven't worked out that bit. :o

Anyway, there are only so many hours to watch and with BST coming up, practically none soon. :)

Sounds like one of the London ones, UCL or Kings? They were cutting it fine, according to the UCAS timetable offers have to be made by the end of this week.

Anyone standing next to Sam Cam looks big, she is a petite size 8.
