The book is on my "must buy" list - as I was following the big thread, but tracking down the recipes I was most interested in was a little harder as it's all copyright stuff
Got that book a while ago; looks brilliant. Has a chapter on kebabs, wasted on me, can't get into them, seem like the porridge of the fast food world to me.
Now i just need time to try out the recipes. Easier said than done. :cool:is zag around? I need some advise.
Misskool, fire ahead or PM me.There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
I keep thinking about getting that takeway secret book. Its not the sort of thing. Would normally buy but they love in on the os board. I keep thinking in five years the charity shops will be absolutely full of them so i should wait a while.
I like porridge too though. Hm kebabs can be however zingy you want them to be. I also make chicken ones sometimes and did try fish ones, but they were nt excellent, i overcooked the fish...i really want kebabs now0 -

Here's the tempting result missjennipenni got: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs759.snc4/65909_439958222606_746772606_5380850_2471115_n.jpg
And here's missjennipenni's Lamb Kebab she made from the book: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs830.snc4/69032_436374637606_746772606_5315818_4869620_n.jpg (added, kind of specially for Doozer ....)
The trouble with a lot of recipes is you need half a teaspoon of a lot of things... so first you have to buy all those ingredients, then you have to only use half a teaspoon from each pot ... then you have to like what you made SO much that you make it enough times to empty the pots you bought.0 -

I do have quite a lot of the recipes from the book though ..... gleaned from various sources.
Some people have found their library has it - but not mine. And the inter-library lending cost is almost as much as buying/owning the book, so there's no point me getting it sent in. Also, inter-library lending has always taken 2-3 months for a book to appear, which kind of then makes it unusable for your original intention0 -
I already have a s and sour recipe from student days. Almost never make it, but i can if i want to. Not sure i would bother with a donner kebab .....0

Maybe I should put some weight on. If I weighed 20 stone I could simply cook for 4 and eat the lot.0
