The paper feels and looks cheap in my edition so I don't know if it would last to reach a charity shop!lostinrates wrote: »I like porridge too though. Hm kebabs can be however zingy you want them to be. I also make chicken ones sometimes and did try fish ones, but they were nt excellent, i overcooked the fish...i really want kebabs now
Porridge is all right but a starter or snack has to have some spice and texture so... kebabs...? Sure they're better than starving to death but I reckon even the Spartans would have found them dull. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
So, I had a kebab.
We were told at Xmas time by a foodie friend that there was a proper turkish kebab shop in town, so I sent H and, indeed, it was nice. I had a proper chargrilled chicken shish with loads of salad and proper chilli sauce, not out of a bottle. Haven't had that since Streatham High Road about 10 years ago!
I will try the kebab recipe PN, soon. I like them too with cucumber raita and Nandos PiriPiri sauceThe picture looks okay too, but not nearly enough salad!

I don't know if anyone is interested, but there is a campaign underway to save Jellicoe's Water Gardens in Hemel Hempstead. As a kid growing up in the town, I loved the Water Gardens, they were so beautiful, tranquil. I hope that they get restored.

Absolutely knackered from work
But quite amusingly, just done one of the online personality tests and I'm a natural born leader.0 -

salad ruins a good kebab.
i miss kebab meat pizzas, they were the best, but you can only really justify eating them when you're a student. also, these days one of those will put about 10kg on my thighs.
i haven't had a filthy kebab for at least 10 years now, i'm a big fan of just stuffing a lightly toasted pitta bread with a skewer-load of grilled lamb and bacon though.0 -
Books... I've been reading this one but have had to send it back as it's been reserved by someone else and I haven't finished it yet. Very enjoyable. It was on the best sellers list at Christmas.

You'd hate me then. I go to the kebab shop just for a pitta bread filled with salad and that lovely minty sauce. Yummmmmmmmmmmmmm...
By the way chewy, how was the skiing in Hemel as I was talking about the town a few mins ago? Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? If/when I lead, I lead from the rear..... sending people out to do stuff that doesn't turn out to be wrong or fruitless. Troops like that - clear instructions they can rely on.0 -

it was ok, although i went late on a sunday evening - 7-10pm. the slope had gone quite severely to moguls (although that was good prep for st anton last week, which was basically one massive mogul field).
the slope is of decent length for an indoor place, but it's not very steep - like very easy green slope.
better than milton keynes, i thought (although there is only one main slope rather than two, it is longer), although quite pricey by comparison.
if i went again i would get there early on saturday morning and do a couple of hours. skiing down an indoor slope is pretty boring though and i would only do it for lessons, it's not much fun!0
