to be honest i'm a very stupid man and cannot sell the word 'tacks' properly, i pay my accountant a lot of money to sort all of this out for me and really in those circumstances can i be expected to do any more?
yes, i know i didn't tell my accountant about my bank account in monaco, but honestly, i am very stupid and i thought my dog would tell him.
good luck with that!0 -

I paid mine, in full, probably also the July payment (in advance) so I don't have to worry about it ... and I stuck it all on my debit card.
Paid, done, dusted.... I can forget anything about tax returns now until 30th January 2013.
i actually don't know, because i only have an amex, which they don't take, so in fact i had to put it on visa debit. i think i put it on my egg card last year though, which was 1% cashback, can't be certain though.0 -
Jamie Oliver's on More 4 with his "30 minute feasts". He's doing a Moroccan thing.
He says you have to get ready to start.... and it could easily take 20-30 minutes to get organised to start the 30 minutes.... so that's nearly an hour.0 -

Post-tax return I celebrated with a microwaved kebab.
There's a pattern emerging here.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I guess PN must be halfway through her kebab stock by now.PasturesNew wrote: »my freezer space is the size of four small sliced loaves ... and currently full of frozen kebab boxes.
I've never eaten frozen kebab.0 -
I have never eaten a frozen kebab either. I make shish Kebab style suppers at home quite a lot. Mmm, with shredded salad and raita style sauce and lots of ras al hanout on the lamb, and lemon wedges........yum, yum, yum.0

When DS was little I was very careful about what he ate. Then I had a miscarriage and was quite ill for several weeks, followed very quickly by another pregnancy (DD). After she was born, LNE had his affair, got fired, lost the house, and left me, all before DD turned 2, so for 3 years or so there were more pressing things on my mind than what my kids were eating. By the time I had space in my brain to think about it again, the battle was lost.
I originally came on MSE looking to learn more about buying a house. I migrated from the main house buying/renting/etc board to this one, and have found a home in the NPT. I did, in fact, learn loads about buying houses, and also was hugely helped by the support of the NP when I bought mine.
When LNE died, I had a choice - keep the important things in my life hidden from my friends on here and retreat into utter superficiality, or compromise my anonymity. I chose the second. I'm well aware that anybody who knew me IRL would recognise my story if they came across "Lydia" on here. However, I'm happy that if kids I teach wanted to stalk me, they wouldn't be able to search for me here, and they'd be very unlikely to come on this board by chance. Also, people that only know me on here would have to work pretty hard to track me down IRL, I hope.
I'm careful not to say anything on here that would be truly disastrous if it was traced back to me. If I have things I want to say that I really don't want to share with any casual acquaintance who knows me well enough to recognise my story, then I have at times posted under another ID - but always for anonymity purposes, and never for wind-up purposes. :rotfl:Otherwise, I just post things here knowing I might be recognised. So someone who recognises me would find out that I don't like mushrooms, I've got solar panels, and my mum died in November - so what? I don't mind that being public knowledge.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
