I bought all the Tesco offers at Asda and got 10% off plus the £5. The only thing I spent at Tescos was my Clubcard vouchers, which this year will be nowhere near the same amount! 12,850 points, now you only get 0.5 point/£ on petrol and just one point/£ on shopping!!! The only worrying thing both Asda and Tesco are run by Mr Clarke.
I think by Christmas 2012 Morrisons will be the leader???Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

No, we got most of our shopping from Aldi and were v pleased with it.
I did exchange some clubcard vouchers for toys vouchers and bought Skylanders though.
We have at least 6 tescos within about a mile and a half, no Asda nearby, 2 sainsbury's, no Morrisons or Waitrose, 1 Aldi and 1 Lidl!
ETA - I also think that Tesco have the worst customer service! One of the big tesco stores near me is ok to shop in, staff are friendly (mind you I rarely shop at this one) and when i've had to go to the customer service desk they've been helpful and efficient, however at the other big tesco they are horrible, downright rude and nasty and that attitude then seems to pervade the whole store.0 -
I Love Tesco and only ever do my xmas shop there! Its the furthest away from us, but, its the biggest out of all the stores here. Its much more spaced out, never more than 1 person in the queue in front (Unlike sainsburys where i can easily stand for 20-30 mins just for a normal shop on a normal week!) I also am in the xmas savers club, so use my vouchers there, it has the biggest car park, I`m a sucker for extra clubcard points.....so yes i did get my food there haha! Oh and Doubled up on loads of vouchers there just before xmas for pressiesMummy to 3 beautiful GIRLS, 9, 7 and 3,
and a handsome lil BOY 03.03.12 :T

Wow, just as I thought - so much customer dissatisfaction - similar reasons too, although worst one for me is they have too many out of town stores that cost loads to get to,or nearby extortionate smaller ones (how 'clever' of them do they think we're stupid and have no other local choices? and no coupons. I also find all their 'reward' points and systems way too complicated and time consuming (need a degree just to work out best way to spend them!) I'd prefer not having to go instore etc to 'convert' them!
Thanks to every poster - very interesting - wise up Mr T, we're onto you!0 -
Yes, I always shop in Tesco. Nearest for me, I go at 8pm, buy all the reduced and special offers. Know where everything is. Cheapest for what I need.

no- did most of my shop in Aldi as I can be in and out of there in less than half an hour and picked up a few bits in Sainsbugs which I couldn't get in Aldi.
I like having less choice as its quicker and I spend half what I would have done in Tesco.0 -
My opinion of Tesco is that it's run by a shower of greedy !!!!!!!s intent on using ever possible greedy trick to hoodwink the unsuspecting customer into paying more than they should for their shopping. Most of their offers are done using smoke and mirrors, they constantly stack the shelves in such a way as to confuse the customer or divert them away from any decent offer, they make their ticketing as difficult as possible to compare and really, they're the scum of the earth when it comes to marketing morals. Hence it's my mission in life to play them at their own game and only ever buy things there when I'm getting the best deal I can and reducing the profits they make from me as much as possible.

:T Thanks , me too, saved me from typing it!
In fact I trailed all the way back into Tesco from the carpark tonight when I realised they'd overcharged me (again, yawn) for eggs by 18p. The middle-aged sloth from the self-serve tills, who was leaning on her elbows over one of the conveyor belts, chatting to her mate, told me Customer Services was closed and if I expected DTD I'd have to come back tomorrow. BIG surprise though, after I'd referred it to a supervisor I was given an apology, a full refund and the eggs for free. It is the first time in a very very long time, that I have actually felt cared-for as a customer in that store.
We didn't need to buy much for Xmas this year. Bought most in M&S with a couple of £5 off vouchers and DD's staff discount. Sainsbury's is my main supermarket of choice and Lidl for few bits.0 -

I quite agree since Tesco stopped taking lots of coupons it's so expensive and manic that I never shop there.
I went to my local smallish Asda t 2.30 Chrsitmas eve and did the shop when the bargains were everywhere - stuff for 10p, 50p. I must have spent aout £30 and had a trolley load including a pack of 10 strongbow cider, bottle of wine, chicken, huge amount of veg 10p each, bread etc Also 3 tins chocks/sweets for a quid, slightly dented but once open on the table at xmas tea nobody looked at the box!! A couple of xmas plants not watered but fine once home. Also milk 6 pints for 50p.
Very happy bunny!0 -

yes quite true the local convenience tescos are dearer than the Co-op in my village and there I pay for the convenience of walking in. Mr T is becoming a rip-off0
