ooo my favorite band, although i have seen them in swindon, although i didnt want to drive there on my own, made OH come with me, he is now a secret psb fan as long as i dont tell anyone.

DS has text me to tell me he is now in central London, apparently he is meeting up with some of the Burke fan club, so a little relieved he is not on his own once he gets there, and he has promised to text me when he is on the bus ready to come home

15, Terrorvision at Middlesbrough Town Hall. Went with a friend, dad drove and sat in the car reading while we went to the gig (bless).

First gig on my own was six months later, Metallica at Sheffield Arena. Dad drove and sat out side in the car reading while I went in (bless).

I think I was 16 the first gig I went to where I travelled on my own.

He'll be fine. I find London gigs safer to get to/from because there are so many people going the same way between the venue and the tube station.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

Sounds like, as suspected, he's doing just fine.

I bet, as well as being ever so anxious, you're quite proud of him, aren't you?

I could maintain some credibilty and say the cure at 15 dropped off by parents but that was my second gig. My first was shakin Stevens aged 7 - we went with my friends parents! The shame

Lottie you tell your dad I did not wet myself at the Beatles concert . I can't say what would have happened if it had been the Stones though...:o

Mupette so pleased you've heard and he's been able to put your mind at rest a little bit

oldernotwiser my first 45 was Travellin' Light by Cliff Richard. It was played to death on my Dansette Major. I think we were all relieved when it eventually died, and if it taught me anything it was to never buy any more of his records :rotfl:

Mine too - I was fourteen and I saw them at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall (Might've been the Wulfrun Hall at the back).

I went on to see them another 4 times, but within 6 months of my first gig, I also saw Anthrax, Motorhead, Metallica, Exploited and lots of other stuff that most people don't like :D.

    ooo spot on.

although his grandparents were on the phone earlier, i couldn't tell them, i made a comment of if you only knew where he was right now, i'd rather tell them after the event.

Yes i am proud that he too a decision to go to a gig and get the tickets and coach tickets and organise himself.

This was not planned, i had a call about 11ish this morning....

he's like me, make a decision and do it there and then, god help us...

I am very very proud of what he has done, all paid for out of his own money from his part time job/savings.

I said yes to London and the gig thinking he didn't have the money to do this, i said that i wasn't going to fund it (which i wouldn't of done) and that i would not be driving up to London (in an emergency i would, although i wouldn't have a clue where i was going) more fool me, little sod managed all by himself :T:T:T

For me it was 15 and it was The The. But this was in NZ where things are a little different (to say the least!)

it would have been twelve tho as I had tickets to see the Thompson Twins and Alison Moyet (combined concert) and it was rained off. I was devatated and had to wait for years to see a real life band.

Both times i was attedning with my brother who is 6 years older than me. So he was the responsible adult!

Get on the M4 and keep going.
But it would be pretty congested when you got there as the Hammersmith Flyover (on the A4, which is what the M4 becomes) is closed.

I was 14, and it was a screamo band, the kind of music that burns the ears of anyone over 16. I got very drunk and kissed a boy my mother would never have approved of. Oh to be young again!
