Well done all you losers - its looking like a good week for all :T:T

Welcome to amaialondon. As Victory says you have done it before and so can do it again.

Been to the gym, was good - I enjoyed it. Its hydraulic machines that you go on for 30 secs then change. The total circuit lasts 30mins. Its free for the month of March and you can go as many times as you want so I am going to aim for at least 3 times a week. Hopefully I will see some muscle toning.

Honey28. Do you have the wedding outfit yet? Maybe you could try it on, see what it looks like and imagine what you want it to look like with you 10 lbs lighter.
I'm bridesmaid at 2 weddings, June and July so trying them on for motivation isnt an option unfortunately. Next fitting 31 March

    Morning

Firstly many thanks for the kind words, after I posted my story, yes you did ask but it took alot for me to write and no doubt alot for you to read.

Thank you also for your good wishes for the new living arrangements, Mrs Suggs is more than happy to cook stir fry, SW curry or pasta, she just worries over my halogen hob (it is touch sensitive :-) ) She understand my goals and why I am doing it, she also, gets to see the benefits too :-)

Anyways back to today, after three weeks running of losing 1lb a week, I hadnt changed anything in my routine over the last week. My little friend in Boots then gave me an answer of losing 6lb I was so shocked I weighed myself twice! I can only guess that my body was holding on for a while and finally shed some more after a fourth week of trying. I am more than happy but still in shock. :D

Well done to XL hunter to petrichor samcantcope (and OH) and retiredlady on your great progress its good to read how other people are doing the changes they use to make that progress happen.

Honey I think "A change is as good as a rest" may apply here. Dont overdo it in the gym, but good on you for trying, keep it, let me know if I can be of any assistance?

Welcome to amaialondon, you done it once, so you know the how-to's and how-not-tos :) Good Luck.

    Hi everyone.
Big thanks to Suggs for the story, i've said it before and i'll say it again you are an inspiration. I even think of you when i'm at the gym now, if i'm feeling tired and want to quit it spurs me on for the extra 10 minutes I didnt think i could manage. I feel like i should get a slogan on my gym t-shirt: 'What would Suggs do?' hehe!!!!
    and 6lb! wow well done!!

Well done everyone else who has lost too, sounds like lots of you have had a good week and are seeing the results you deserve!!
Also well done to those who have fallen off the wagon and bravely confessed and got back on with us!!

Havent done anything beneficial this weekend and had a very drunken night out sat (dont even know how many glasses of wine i drank! ) so have been recovering from that still, and sleeping a lot!

Got loads of Uni work to do now and exams until mid may, so i'm worried that i wont have time for the gym and it will all go downhill again :(
I'm going to do my best to fit it in as much as poss (gym after my lectures on mon, wed and fri, squash once a week when OH and i are both free, and hopefully swimming whenever i feel i have time - the pool is the furthest place to travel, everything else is on campus.)
It's going to be much harder in a few weeks though, when term is over. I will have tons of revision and dissertation stuff to do, and i wont be going up to uni as there wont be any lectures, so i will have to put time aside to walk up to campus solely to go the gym, which will be a struggle (i am not only combatting weight and food but also LAZINESS!!)

So...i am doing a sort of reward system with myself...ie. if i do some reading and write part of my essay by this evening then i can play squash and have a nice evening and dinner with OH, if not i have to write the essay all evening, no time for tv or dessert. So if i can 'bribe' myself to do the uni work (i'm so hard to motivate usually!) i think i can get the work done faster and have time for excerise, so i'll feel good in two ways (a) got the work done on time and (b) exercise lots and keep improving body image/shape.

Does that sound like a good idea??? Need some advice/support really else i feel i'll slip back into the old way, which is basically choosing to stay at home in my room all day, despite the lovely weather and doing my work slowly and resentfully, with bread/sweets/cake/a huge bag of malteasers next to me at all times!!
I'm really pleased that i have learnt to enjoy the gym now, and think of it as a reward rather than punishment. That's a step in the right direction.

Lois glad to see you're back, and thanks for the good gym advice, i had always been a cardio girl (i'm quite muscley anyway so i didnt want my arms/legs to get any bigger!) but recently started to use the resistance/weight machines and felt so good and toned they are now my favourites!!
Please put me down for a maintain this week, but i lost 1.5lb last week which i dont think i posted in time for the chart, so my updated total should be 3lb. Will do my absolute best this week as i really want to see some better losses.

Hope everone has a good week! :D

awwww, glad to hear your wonderful news Suggs! and thank you for your story. Well done all our losers so far, some spectacular results! I haven't weighed in for a few weeks partly because I felt like I needed to get back into SW habits without feeling under pressure. Just got sent out to buy cakes for everyone in the office as it's someone's birthday so I'm frantically eating fruit to fill up so I stay away. The SW website reckons that a doughnut is 12.5 syns which i thought was rather low. Danish pastries and muffins are just too scary to think about, especially when i'm going to my mum's for tea tonight! Honey, you sound really motivated. I hope the gym works out for you.

Hi all - well done to the losers, some really good results, and Suggs - 6lbs, wow! Actually I'm quite relieved, because I've apparently lost 4lbs since Saturday.... :j.... and I would have felt a real fraud to be slimmer of the week!

    See you all later :D

Well done Lois and well done also to Suggs. What have you all been at this week ;) I'm not hoping for much at WI tonight as, as mentioned earlier I havent had a good eating week. Started afresh today though and have had porridge and crispbread so far today.
Best dash, in between school runs - need to get DD changed and back round for DS. Might walk if we are ready in time. DS will be delighted - not :rotfl:

Kat - I would change it a little. Make the gym/squash work part of your normal daily routine. So if you do your reading and part write the eassy, AND you play squash, you can have a nice evening and dinner with your OH. I would raise the importance of your fitness to make sure it becomes part of the routine and not the exception.

I always have the gym kit with me, so its part of the routine and there is no excuse not to go. Ok this maybe be overkill, but its what I find works for me. I know if I went home to get me kit, I probably wouldnt leave the house :)

    Hope that makes sense

What Would Suggs Do? - Venti, Extra Shot, Sugar Free Vanilla, Skimmed Latte :D But only after the gym ;)

Honey - In answer to your question I have not been doing anything that is out of the normal routine. Rest assured I have not been 'at' Lois in anyway shape or form :rotfl:
