Petrichor - I'm chuffed for you and so very glad you didnt give up a few weeks back - remember this feeling if you ever feel tempted to throw the towel in again. Well done you :T
Mike - thats a great result for the past 3 weeks - if you keep averaging 2lb a week loss it will be off in no time at all.
Victory - I'm not giving up. I've got 10lbs to lose too to get me where I want to be. I'm just so frustrated that I cannot get past my current weight. Its been recommended both in here and in the "real" world! that I change my eating habits but I dont really see how I can. I havent been on the plan for the past week, not intentionally just the way things panned out. I was working at the elections that were held over here and the count for the next 2 days and as the hours were long (average 15 hours per day ) it was hard to stick to the fruit and healthy snacks that I had brought and opted for some sugary snacks to keep me awake! I had a chinese on Saturday night with friends but stayed off the wine. I will go to class anyway tonight and hopefully by changing back to healthy eating from today it might kick start. I am off to the gym shortly and as the sessions are only 30mins I hope to cram as many in as possible while it is free! If anyone can suggest any other changes I would be grateful. These weddings are getting closer and closer and I am getting more down about them by the day0 -
Great post Suggs and thank you. You must be so proud of your achievement (hell – even I’m proud of your achievement!) and doing it twice… Good luck with the new living arrangements
Well done Petrichor!
Honey28. Do you have the wedding outfit yet? Maybe you could try it on, see what it looks like and imagine what you want it to look like with you 10 lbs lighter. Other than that it probably is down to making some changes to what you currently eat (the gym will help as well). What do you currently eat? Maybe we can come up with some yummy stuff for you to try?
I think each and every one of you that openly share your triumphs and ‘hiccups’ are incredible people but I’m not always inspired by your stories – just the opposite sometimes. I despair at not being as organised as I should be (and you are) and then I grab something quick, handy and so wrong to eat.
Over the years I have thrown hundreds of pounds at SW most of it wasted simply because I, and only I, haven’t stuck to the advise and help I’ve been given. On saying that not all of the money was wasted. I never eat the fat off meat (unless it’s pork and I sneak a bit of crackling), always dry fry my bacon and only ever eat SW chips. Good things that have stuck with me. I always, always plan if I am having a green day or a red day – then I get out of bed….
Only slightly joking there. Making a plan is easy – sticking to it is one of the hardest things I can do. I’m very, very lazy when it comes to being organised which is the biggest hurdle I have to overcome if I wish to be successful at getting my weight under control. So now that has been acknowledged it is one of the first things I have to tackle.
I’m not going to make my original target for next Tuesday
So I have to organise myself for the next one. Although I work full time I have just completed a BSC computing degree. Six years it took me and I finished with a 2:1 and before you ask – no I was never organised during that six years and always, always did work to be handed in at the last minute – but I definitely don’t want to look ‘lumpy’ when I graduate next to all the young thin graduates in July.
New plan of action:
1. No more green days. I’m finding them hard to stick with. Red days only for now.
2. Walk more vigourously with the dog to increase my exercise.
3. Stock the office with fruit and ‘veg sticks’
4. Eat more often not when I suddenly realise I’m starving.
5. MAKE A PLAN AND STICK TO IT!!!
If, after 4 weeks, I find that I’m still struggling I will have to rejoin a SW class. Think about how much it is costing me and not shrug off a maintain week after week. I’m 5’3”, weigh 11 stone and ideally would like to be down 1 stone before July. It is not a big ask really.0 -
Thanks for your kind words of support victory. I promise I am not going to go mad and gorge every thing in site. I just want to eat my meals without thinking about everything. I will still dry fry and drain any fat. only use minimal spread and try to cut down on the chocolate. I will get back to it in a couple of weeks and now the weathers getting better I am going to be getting on my bike. and I will still be reading this fantastic thread.HOW MUCH ?0

Honey.... I see what you mean, it can be so frustrating.... I hope that this evening you are happy with the results
Erlqueen... you see for yourself what your downfalls are, lack of organization etc.... every member of my family is thin, has no problems with weight and they look at me and must think...she eats all day surely to be that weight?:D
She must be so unorganized but it is not true...metabolism and all that...see a portion increase a pound:rotfl:
alyssa.....the very best of luck to you, with me I cannot trust myself to be 'normal' it is cut out everything or the other way, no middle ground with me (that is why I am this size!!), I am not a nibbler!!! I am hoping (again!) when I GET to the ideal weight for my height etc I have finally learnt something and will carry on with the wholemeal bread, dry fry, sugar free jelly etc and take that all the way rather than do all this and then ditch it back to the very familiar bad old habits....0 -
I found this thread today and gave me the little push that i needed to think about starting my diet again so today i am starting my diet (again). I lost 3 stones a couple of years ago with slimming world but i put it back during the last 18th months ( I have college to blame for it
),college is finished so now back to normality and real world. So i want to loose 4 stones. I read tips on this thread and will see if am able to do it....

Morning all.
Well done to the losers. I've maintained again. This weeks excuse was my sister-out-laws birthday. Lots of food and drinking involved over the weekend.
To be honest I'm feeling a tad rough today, I was thinking of giving the gym a miss , but now I've read this thread I can't let myself down, can I?Now I'm using calories instead of time as a measure, presumably I can set it a lower level and plod on a bit longer.
Well done Suggs for telling us your story and for the weightloss. Good luck with the living over t'brush.0 -
Morning everyone!
I am so pleased with myself today. I lost 3.5 pounds and was slimmer of the week! :j
I experimented this week and had all red days. Last week I did all green and lost 2 lbs. Think I will have another red week again this week.
I am sure going to the gym is really helping a lot too. The support on here is fantastic and I think I am falling in love with Suggs!!:o(It could be hero worship). He will totally be my inspiration whenever I feel myself flagging!
Love to you all
