Hmmm, I just made it to set up the ISA, first logon was yesterday 25th Jan 0930, and transferred money into the account today. Having read that the offer was withdrawn yesterday I phoned them, they said I'm on the offer group, they tell me the kindles should be delivered around 17th Feb.

I can't believe it - I emailed them but haven't received a reply yet but they put this on their site
"Important Notice - Please note that the Cash ISA Kindle offer has now been withdrawn. Thank you to all those who responded to our offer. Whilst the offer was closed at 15:00 on 25 January, we are honouring all completed applications as at 16:00 on that day. This will have given time for people who were in the course of completing their application when the notice was published. So as long as you opened your Cash ISA before 16:00 on 25 January and have £5,000 or more on deposit on 31 January 2012, you will qualify for a free Kindle. Although the Kindle offer has closed, existing and new accounts will still earn 2.62% AER on cash deposited."
According to their site I made the deposit at 15:36 so fingers crossed I should qualify for the free Kindle!0 -

Received an email back that the interest rate indicated on the account is wrong and it is as advertised.
The cutoff time for the Kindles was 4:00 p.m. and they will be mailed out mid February (roughly 17th).0 -

You got that one right! I knew of this deal from the day it started (got e-mail from Selftrade as hold SIPP via them) and was waiting for it to turn up on the MSE e-mail to see how long it would last... well, not very long!
Selftrade's website is usually very responsive and without glitched, Wednesday it was a mess! very slow. Someone must have panicked at Selftrade and shut the deal down while they could to avoid huge losses!
The way people behave on this site, they would have had a huge amount of accounts opened with £5000 and transferred elsewhere as soon as the Kindle was dispatched! That is £89 a pop (probably negotiated a better price with Amazon) plus the admin cost for less than a month of holdings clients funds. They will now undoubtedly have to deal with a load of complaints but probably cheaper than letting everyone in on the deal!0 -

True, completely agree with this, it is already evident from what I have read that people plan to transfer the money as soon as they receive the kindle - that is what MSE themselves recommended - to keep the money in the account until they receive the kindle
.
I happened to be looking for an ISA anyway, so I have topped it up to the full amount, and I plan on holding the money there, for as long as.Top Cash Back: £882

Oh my goodness, only just caught up with all this.
I applied online on 25th, using the option to pay in but then had to wait for funds to be moved. Also wanted to transfer but couldn't add that option as well, so phoned to check.
Having just logged on to my phone a/c, the phone call was at 15.58 on 25/1! Hopefully then I should still get a kindle...still wondering whether to complete the transfer or not, but it is quite a good rate.
I was planning on leaving it there, there's not much better around just now.0 -
Hi
I applied for an account on the 25th Jan. My welcome letter is asking me for a bank statement but as I bank on line I would have to print one myself. Can any one please advise if this would be acceptable.
I have sent them 2 secure private messages from within my account but have not had any reply from them.0 -
