Mine turned up today as well.

For info : I got no email confirmation. I just signed up before the deadline and transferred the fund when I received the welcome letter from Selftrade.

I didnt send any bank statements as I wasnt sure I needed to!

I didnt call them to confirm the kindle offer either.

    Hope this helps!

  • Hi all,

For those that haven't sent in a statement or a void cheque and want to close your account, you may find that you need to provide this to Selftrade before they are able to transfer your Selftrade monies to your bank account.

They do have a freepost address, which I used to supply my details to them. As I advised previously, I will be closing my account now that I have got the Kindle and transferring my money to another better offer.
  • 2 kindles delivered today as well. Very impressive service.

For those who haven't submitted bank statements I believe all new accounts require this as it's related to verifying your not money laundering and is a requirement of the authorities. Failure to do this will result in the account being "locked" after a certain number of days (I think within 30 days of the account being opened). If, like many you do online banking and your statements don't have your address then a blank cheque from the relevant "linked" bank account with "VOID" written through it is acceptable. I sent, in a rather belts and braces fashion:

    1. Cheque
    2. Self Print Statement
    3. HMRC tax code letter

Might be worth doing this verification as you may run into delays / difficulties if and when you wish to pull the money out of the account.

Thanks for confirming wot I said previously...namely you can't close your account and then send your money to you bank account without providing a copy of your bank statement and/or your void cheque.
