Do I have this correct, you just need to have opened and made the deposit by the 31st Jan, not sent statements or verified address?
I recently opened a cash Isa with Selftrade and deposited £5000, and as I bank on line with Barclays I printed off an up to date on line statement that showed my name, address and account number and sent it to them as requested. Thats it Job sorted !
Or so I thought. Today I received a letter from Selftrade saying,
Thankyou for providing us with a bank statement.
Unfortunately,we are unable to accept this statement to verify your bank details, as it is a photocopy. For us to verify your bank details , please send the original statement. Which is less than 3 months old and shows your current address details.
This even though they accepted an on line payment of £5000 using my Barclays debit card. I just dont understand these people, They tout for business and accept payments on line, but will not accept a printed on line bank statement. The mind boggles :mad:0 -
Where we supposed to get a free post envelope to post back the bank statements?0

Does everyone need to send a bank statement? I haven't and haven't been asked to (I think).0

Yes, you need to send a bank statement to officially open the account, there should be an envelope in the welcome pack.Top Cash Back: £882
