Over the weekend - last looked Saturday morning - my application in Warwickshire (the 2nd I applied for) has gone to Hold. My other is still under review - No feedback on either for the competencies.

    What does hold mean?

It means they are sifting your application

To those who have had their status changed to "on hold" did you all score above 80% percentile? or were your scores actually lower?

Sounds like these guys may get interviews then.

Just found the info at: http://dwp.gov.uk/docs/competency-guidance.pdf

As you can see they do have a structure and it is quite harsh. I did not follow this structure as I had to rely on a forum post to find out that information. One f**king link to that page from the application form could have help immensely, but no they have to prove that they are imbeciles.

I won't even bother checking anymore, Goodluck to all those who knew in advance and had a fair shot at the application. Others who have missed the vital information... bad luck for us, but no chance.

    Ah well...

I can't remember dwp giving us this link to help with our application form

That's pretty harsh. Now I know what you're referring to, I looked at that site and didn't find that information. Fair enough, I suppose, as I applied late and during some short time not working, but Erazor also knows he's probably messed it up as well.

Anyway.... those in Birmingham and Solihull should be hearing this week. Spoke to a very helpful lady on the recruitment line. Good luck to you all.

Maybe it is a little harsh but it's also true. You only needed to follow the links given.

I must admit that Erazor riled me somewhat when he said that anyone who scored 90+% must have cheated. I did and I didn't cheat!

I haven't had my competency scores yet so I don't know how I did.

It was in the job advert which I copied and pasted into Word and printed (the link that I gave in post #978.) I have it in front of me at the moment so I know it's definitely there.

I suppose that we're all getting frazzled with the long wait and other people getting their competency scores.
The link was just before the list of competencies.

I didn't notice the link on the application form ; however, as I have not written competencies before, I googled DWP competencies first and found the information quite easily.

I got 90+ without cheating, but that's not going to help me now. :) I think that I may have just seen the "How to Apply" link and assumed it wouldn't give any specifics on the process itself (since I was already applying through their systems). Well, that's what I get for not being thorough enough. I admit I probably approached the app with a self-defeating attitude, assuming they wouldn't have me anyway (public service jobs are notoriously tough to get), so that wouldn't have helped either. Next time around, at least I know to check out the link via the link eh. :D
  • Just called the recruitment line and the chap on the phone said they were scoring the competencies last week and this week and everyone should be notified of how they've done by next week.

This is becoming soul destroying, just want to know either way if you're in the running or not, then can concentrate on other vacancies :(
  • The link is def on job vacancy page just checked. Each comp has to have it's own start middle and end.
  • Is all this stuff about the competencies all just common sense? It's like selling yourself to the employer and really if you can't do that then how do you expect to work in a jobcentre setting to help others into work?? I don't know what my results are yet still under review and to be honest if I don't get to the next stage it's my own fault!
