DWP Recruiting Again - 2012

Just found the info at: http://dwp.gov.uk/docs/competency-guidance.pdf
As you can see they do have a structure and it is quite harsh. I did not follow this structure as I had to rely on a forum post to find out that information. One f**king link to that page from the application form could have help immensely, but no they have to prove that they are imbeciles.
I won't even bother checking anymore, Goodluck to all those who knew in advance and had a fair shot at the application. Others who have missed the vital information... bad luck for us, but no chance.
Ah well...0 -
Jesusssssssssssssssssssssssssssss LOL
Well, I certainly hope it will be bad luck for me
Why would I want to work with/for people who made such a mess of something that should be so simple - their own recruitment process.. and it is DWP LOL0 -
lol, I am hoping on my Olympic job now which is rubbish pay but very promising in getting the job.
I really don't want to be on JSA with all this recruitment going on, I can just imagine more advisors for harassing and sanctioning the youths into jobs that don't exist!0 -
There is always next time though where I could:
Cheat and ace the test with a 90%+ percentile.
Where I will specifically write to their structure about all the lies in the world to please them in every area.
Repeat the above at an interview but directly lie to their faces this time.
Get the job, go into the job centre giggling and snorking and muhahaha @ random claimants lol0 -
Went for an interview re a job with Olympics last year.
Very, VERY high up in th bulding with whole glass wall was feeling like I was going to faint - scared of heights like hell little me.
Interview lasted... about 5 or six HOURS.
With individual task, group task, role play and individual interview.
Luckily (location) I did not get the job... sigh....of relief.
There is not way on earth I could work in that building and so high up.0 -
Over the weekend - last looked Saturday morning - my application in Warwickshire (the 2nd I applied for) has gone to Hold. My other is still under review - No feedback on either for the competencies.
What does hold mean?0 -
I think I mentioned this earlier but it was difficult to distinguish between the "managing people and performance" capability and the "leadership" capability as your answer in the 1st one basically answers the 2nd one... If you've managed people and performance the surely that's an indication of leadership
Managing people and performance also means your own performance which could be a situation where you have had to meet a deadline0 -

I'm sorry Erazor but there was a link on the job advert.
In the job advert is saysFor further information about working for DWP or information about the general process used by DWP please select the following link.
Please be aware that this link is a generic overview of the recruitment process and may differ slightly between differing exercises.
Job Description URLs
http://www.dwp.gov.uk/about-dwp/working-for-dwp/
Clicking on the link brings you to a page about working for the DWP. There is a hyperlink there 'How to apply' and if you click on 'Knowledge, skills and experience' there is a 'Recruitment support pack' and 'Guidance on writing competency statements for a job application'.
If you can't be bothered following the links then you don't have anyone else to blame but yourself.0 -

Someone earlier in the thread rang the helpline about that and was told that it meant that your application (competency part) was being marked.0 -

That's pretty harsh. Now I know what you're referring to, I looked at that site and didn't find that information. Fair enough, I suppose, as I applied late and during some short time not working, but Erazor also knows he's probably messed it up as well.
Anyway.... those in Birmingham and Solihull should be hearing this week. Spoke to a very helpful lady on the recruitment line. Good luck to you all.0
